QUESTIONS
Inclusive learning and development culture
The term inclusive learning indicates that people of culture and diversity are respected and
appreciated where the learning and development activities that take place are not biased against
any particular culture or religion. The learners are taught to embrace the differences that exist
amongst them and value each other thus empowering themselves making them achieve their full
potential (Perfilieva, Novospasskaya and Arsenyeva, 2017). The inclusive learning fosters in the
development of the sense of belongingness amongst the learners and a more cohesive culture is
created that ultimately gets reflected on the increased productivity and performance of learners.
Development in Hightown Housing
There are certain key strategies that the HR of Hightown Housing can adopt to foster the
development of inclusive learning and development culture:
The employees must be given the opportunity to present their experiences which helps in
respecting and accepting whatever value every employee brings towards the organisation.
Developing a community approach where everyone is encouraged to participate and
contribute their thoughts and ideas without being ridiculed is the best strategy that can be
adopted for development of inclusive culture (Gunawardena, 2020).
The attitude and behaviour of the employees towards each other is of critical importance
where workplace ethics and positive development can be fostered only when the employees
are more amiable and curious rather than formal to learn about each other and their cultures.
Factors to be considered
There are five key factors that can be considered during implementation of the inclusive
culture in Hightown Housing:
Developing visionary leadership for employees working at all levels.
Increased collaboration of managers and leaders with employees of other cultures.
Develop a solid support system for the employees (Hollinrake and et.al., 2019).
Focusing on team collaboration techniques pairing up employees together.
Readjusting and reformulating the idea of best practices where the quality is given equal
importance.

Differences between organisational and individual learning
Individual learning is basically the learning of an employee at an individual level that is
focused toward the achievement of personal goals and is tailored to improve the skill set of one
particular individual only. The individual learning involves working on self as an individual
rather than as an employee of any organisation.
The organisational learning on the other hand indicates the development of an individual
with a shared vision towards achievement of goals and objectives that have been set up by the
organisation itself (Palos and Stancovici, 2016). Here the individual is an employee who
develops themselves in order to be able to achieve and perform better in regards with the
organisational performance measuring tools.
Difference between training and development
The term training basically indicates a short term process where the employee is given an
opportunity to develop any particular skills or gain knowledge in any particular area that is
relevant for the current job role (Noe and Kodwani, 2018).
Development on the other hand is a longer process which is focused in the overall growth
of an employee so that their productivity and performance can improve in the longer run. It is the
growth of an employee in an all rounder manner rather than focusing on one particular skill set
or area.
