INTRODUCTION
Conference and event management is application of project management in order to
creation and development of large scale event such as conference, festivals, weddings and
ceremonies. The present report will be base on 5 star hotels in Bournemouth which is “Hilton
Bournemouth”. The senior management team decide to diversify the range of product offer in
their hotel in order to attract more customers. Management organizes various event at hotel for
introduce product. Report will inform by the various class of event by using particular example
and discourse features and trends which are running in market place. The study will show
various management roles within event. It will review the management skills and personal
property required to work within event. This will also highlight by appropriate measures required
to provide a secure and safe event venue.

P1 examine the various event types and with its example;
There are different types and categories of events which are organized by Hilton
Bournemouth in order diversify food products. This will help to attract more customers towards
business (Armstrong and Scott, 2016). The different categories of event are as follows:
Private events:
Private events are organized by individuals who are book and reserve venues such as
weddings, birthdays, festivals gatherings etc. Private event have the proper guest list to ensure
the venue is not open to the public. There are different types of private event which are
Weddings, Themed parties, Family event, VIP event.
Corporate events:
Corporate events are organized for promoting business and their companies brand and
products such as business dinners, conference, networking events, seminars, products launches
and meetings (Different types of event, 2018). Corporate event help to build professional
relationship betwixt employees that will be beneficial staff communication to make a business
expand. For example: networking event and product lunching event if company and person lunch
new product and service in new market. In that case company is organize product lunching
product.

event such as society balls. Sports and charitable auctions. For example: Art exhibition, sporting
event , competition.

event like equipment, products, purpose (Berners, 2018). Mobile event is only seen by people not
feel. But place event is requires the physical presence which is best.

Current trends are impact to event industry in negative manner. Nowadays various new
trends coming in conference event which can be impact to the event. Current trends are as
follows:
Embrace green event:
The EMBRACE GREEN EVENT, going just phenomenon experiencing for food
industry and promoting products which are added in menu. This is most current trend in
conference event because people want safe and fresh food product for eat.
Digital technology:
Digital technology is also influenced to conference event like mobile apps, events apps,
interactive technology and visual animation walls. Present days conference event includes by
power point presentation and slide shows which can be impact to conference meetings if this
services are not available in conference.

Conference event requires different manager who are responsible for organizing
successful event. The roles and responsibilities of different manager are as follows:
Conference manager:
There are different types of roles and responsibilities of conference manager. The
important role of manager is to interact with client to obtain meeting requirements and schedules.
In the conference client interaction is very important in order to know the views of customers
about conference where food product is diversified (Ma, Gilchrist and Chong, 2019). This is also
created the current job opportunity in event industry. For example: in the business product
lunching event, conference manager have role to coordinate with staff activities, for client to
make proper arrangements for group meetings.
Event manager
Event manager role can depend on the company and function. In general, Event manager
is highly responsible for organize, planning, managing and coordinating various type of events.
In order to organize conference event in hotel event manager have role to classify different
categories of food and equipments. Presently event manager have large job opportunity in event

lunching event is to make proper planning, organizing, managing and coordinating various and
different types of event. They are usually coordinate meetings in order to determine details about

has high requirement in event sector. Other hand its create the highly job opportunity ion sector.
Currently, has the highest growth in event industry which is Digital analytics manager. Manager
plays a very important role in industry because they analysis the whole data which are collects by
event manager related to current trends. For example: digital analytics manager is responsible for
working closely with the digital. They are marketing campaign manager to deliver insights
around and audience or overall digital experience.

Personal attributes and Management skills are requires working with the event's industry.
These are help to meet expectations and needs of stakeholders in industry (Paerl, 2015). The
management skills and personal attributes are as follows:

Time management skill is very important in event business because event manager can be
organized an event on very short period. This skill is highly helped to meet expectations of
internal and external stakeholders in positive manner. Through, that customers are highly
satisfied.
Resource management skills
Resource management skill is also important for become the prefect event manager. In
this skill manager requires a problem solving and fast thinking ability. This is very important
because in any critical situation manager take decision and also they have to keep records of
finance and others.

Security is very important elements in event industry because customers wants safe and
healthy food and venue.
Providing safe venue:
It is very important to manage safe and secure venue for customers. This includes healthy
as well as safety such as room capacity, food safety, fire safety equipments (Sørensen and et.al.,
2015). Those equipments have to manage by event manager at venue for customer and employee
safety. Providing safe equipment at venue in any emergency.
Healthy and safe food products at venue side. For that, manager have to keep food safety
equipments which are help to keep food fresh and safe at venue side in proper manner.
In case of fire, the contingency plan is keep fire safety equipment at venue.
Providing safe venue by using Octopus software which is provide safe and security to
customers at venue.
Safe environment for staff:
Safe as well as familiar environment is essential for staff safety. For that, event manager
have to provide training and development for event planning and safety purpose. Through, that
staff members are trained for use safety equipments. For example: training for food serving to
guest. For providing safe environment to staff by motivating employees and spend time together
not working.

has plays a very important role in event organization. Private, corporate and charity event these
