INTRODUCTION
Leadership is an essential part of the organization which is helpful in managing the people
and guiding the employees in order to attain the overall goals of the organization. A leader
is the most important person who leads the business and provides an accurate path to the
subordinates so that they can enhance their current skills (Amanchukwu et al., 2015). The
management is an art of managing the work with accuracy and intelligence. There are
different roles and responsibilities of a manager. The management styles and approaches
are helpful in managing the business.
This assignment will be discussing different management and leadership approaches which
are helpful in managing the work in the organization (Arnold et al., 2015). For
understanding the needs of leadership and management in the organization more
accurately this assignment is choosing the Hilton Hotel. Hilton considers as one of the top
brands in hotels and well-known name in the world. The Hilton hotel is the flagship brand
and that serve a reason as the hotel has 579 properties all around the world. Founded in
1919 the Hilton hotel gives the trust of name to their customers. In the UK Hilton hotel is
one of the best hotels that satisfied the needs of the customers effectively and provides
good quality service to their customers. These qualities of Hilton hotel makes it the perfect
choice to understand the concept of this assignment.

Classical management theories play an important role in the organization. In the Hilton
Hotel the leader adopted the classical management theory (Basten et al., 2018). In the
current situation, it has been observed that the management of the organization adopting
digital technology and other innovative tools in order to produce better services for the
satisfaction of the customers. The classical management theory is helpful in managing the
business activities of the organization accurately. There are mainly three elements of
classical management theory which are described as under:
Scientific Management: Frederick Winslow Taylor has provided this theory in which he
states that if the employees work with effectiveness so the productivity of the organization
will be increased (Carmona et al., 2018). The employees need to put their efforts into
gaining the desirable outcomes of the organization. Hilton Hotel finds this theory very
useful for their business and they use it for motivating the employees for their work.
Administrative Management: Henry Fayol has given this theory which is helpful in
managing the goals and objectives of the organization. This theory mainly focuses on
enhancing the efficiency of work. In the Hilton Hotel, this theory mainly adopted by the
leader to manages the digital technology and other operations which are conducted by the
employees. This theory is also helpful in enhancing the brand image of the company (Chen
and Yan, 2018).
Bureaucratic Management:
Max Weber has given this theory which is helpful in maintaining discipline at the
workplace (Flyverbom et al., 2016). There are some policies and rules of the Hilton Hotel
which needs to be followed by all the employees.

responsibility for managing the performance of the employees. Proper training and
development sessions are provided by the leader so that the current skills and abilities of

Motivation:
Motivation is the main factor for increasing the level of efficiency and performance of the
employees (Grint et al., 2016). The employee needs motivation to perform well in the
organization for which the leader adopts different motivation theories and styles.

The leader provides essential support to the employees regarding their work. Support of
the leader encourages the employee to perform well and manage the work more
accurately.

The leader is the only person who unites the team and maintains coordination between all
the employees (Hu et al., 2016). This is helpful in managing the work and guiding the
employees for the development of the company. Coordination and effective communication
between the team members will be really helpful in managing the business activities

Laissez-Faire Leadership Style: In this leadership style the leader put all the
responsibility of taking the decision to the employees (Basten et al., 2018). The employee of

for the betterment of the organization. This is one of the most effective leadership styles
which is helpful in maintain coordination and collaboration between the employees and
leadership.
Dynamic Leadership Style: This leadership is helpful in managing a healthy working
environment in the organization. This leadership style is helpful in implementing changes
as per the needs of the organization (Flyverbom et al., 2016). The dynamic leader only
focuses on attaining the goals of the organization.
Open-inclusive leadership: In this leadership style the leader provides freedom to the
