Introduction
Hip-hop culture is a subculture that was developed in South Bronx in New York. Hip-hop is just
not the musical style , but it includes a large number of areas ,and among them, music is one of
them. In 2017 the hip-hop culture is a lifestyle , which has a colorful culture in a fashionable
style , with different styles of music that are constantly developing. The hip-hop culture
comprises of five elements, which we will discuss in the next section of the study.
Five elements of Hip Hop culture
The hip-hop culture is divided into five elements which are DJing, BBoying, MCing, Graffiti,and

DJing-
Initially, in the year 1950, the concept of DJing is evolved. Now in 2017, the advancement in
technology move it to the next level. Due to the impact of digital technology the DJs play music
through digital musical files. Nowadays DJs also started the use of microphones for interacting
with the audiences and keep them involved in the show.
BBoying
It is the type of street dance which is called as the breakdancing or breaking. This element is
inspired by the dance elements and the dance styles. This , a style was first evolved in the 1970s
and the dancers those who are involved in this element where the African American and they
only adopt breaking as the way of dancing. In 2017, the Hispanic teenagers have brought
competitiveness in BBoying.
MCing
MCing is used as the synonym for rapping. MC is the acronym of the master of ceremonies. The
main role of MC is to provide assistance to DJ, by keeping the audience involved and make the
audience entertaining by encouraging b-boys and b-girls. In 2017 the MCs are playing the
significant role in hip-hop culture.
Graffiti
This style is considered as the oldest style of an element. Newyork is considered as the Graffiti
Capital of the World, due to its widespread appeal. The graffiti dance form has many styles of
which the common are the tag style, throw up, and wild style.
Beatboxing
It is the technique of vocal drumming, in which the singer imitates the voice of drums and other
instruments in his or her voice. In beatboxing the beatboxers create their beats in a natural way.
In 2017 the effects in beatboxing will be enhanced by providing a musical backdrop for MCs to
rap over.

In 2017,hip-hop culture the thriving artists are many which include both the male and the female
rappers. Among those the few are Cardi B, Noname, Kash Doll, Codie Shane, and Kamaiyah are
the top female rappers of all times. Among all Kamaiyah is the hottest hip hop rapper , who has
brought California sound back to hip-hop. Kamaiyah is driven off by the funloving energetic
rapper , who writes a lot of driven songs at all times. Her breakout song was “How does it feel”
which is a song of praise about growing up poor with dreams of carrying on with a rich life off
her exceptionally acclaimed make a big appearance mixtape.
Conscious rapper and reason for choosing
Conscious rap is a sub-sort of hip-hop that spotlights on making mindfulness and bestowing
information. Conscious rappers customarily censure savagery, separation, and other societal
illnesses. It's impelled by the conviction that radical social change comes through learning of self
and individual disclosure.The rapper that we have chosen over here is Tupac Shakur . (Reference
(2017). The reason for choosing him is the mastery of Shakur has been done in every element
and aspect of rapping, and he is the master of flow of all times.
Conclusion
This particular study discussed the American hip hop culture of 2017. It shows that hip-hop is
not just a style of music , but it is seen as the representation of the whole culture that includes the
number of elements. In this particular report we have discussed the elements of hip-hop culture
which includes DJing, MCing, graffiti, Beatboxing and b-boying. The report also discussed the
conscious rapper of 2017 in the charts in addition to the hottest female hip hop rapper of 2017.
