Harry Truman’s Perspective
In this article, Harry Truman, who was the President of The United States of America
at the time of The Second World War. In this article, the President of the country explains his
actions for deciding to drop the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. The
President tells to the readers that after the victory of the Allied Powers in the continent of
Europe itself, the Allied Powers wanted the war to end and hence laid down the rules and the
regulations for Japan to surrender in the World War II. However, the readers get to know
from the article written by the President that since the Japanese were not willing to comply
with the demands of the Allied Powers during that time, U.S.A and the allied powers like that
of Britain, Russia had decided to drop the atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and that
of Nagasaki itself. The readers of the articles get to know the fact Truman had warned the
citizens of the country to save themselves as much as they can as the atom bomb world be
dropped in the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the country of America. The article ends
with the President of America thanking that the atom bomb had been dropped by America on
Japan and not the other way around itself. This is what the article written by American

In this article and paragraph, I will be discussing my opinion on the bombing of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the Americans and the Allied Power and whether it was right
action or not. In order to present my opinions on the matter, it is important that I discuss the
cause of the Second World War and how the countries got involved in this situation. There
are a number of reasons why Gar Alperovitz is of the opinion that the atomic bombing was
unjustified in the country. The first reason for this is the fact that Germany and Italy had
already been defeated by the Allies in the war itself.
The evidence which suggest the fact that Gar Alperovitz’s belief is the fact that the
Japanese had provided a strong resistance to the Americans during the World War II.
Moreover, the article also states that Japan had wanted the war to be ended and had
approached Russia for help. Gar Alperovitz points this out to be the reason why he felt that
the dropping of atomic bomb was unjustified at that time. The historian was of the opinion
that the Americans and the Allied Powers could have used other means for punishing Japan
rather than dropping an atom bomb on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which not only
destroyed the cities but also led to the deaths of thousands of people. Thus, all these points
help to realize the un justification of the dropping of the atom bomb in the country.

The Second World War started in the year 1939 when the country of Germany, Italy
and Japan had declared war on the world. It was to stop the aggression that the Allied Powers
had no other options than dropping the bomb on the country of Japan. It is here that I will
take a neutral stand on the actions of World War II. I will present my opinions for stating this
belief. This is because of the fact that I believe that one of the most powerful countries who
had provided a strong resistance the Allied Powers in the war. The Japanese had committed
themselves to the defence of their homeland. The United States and the history of the war
gives us the idea that Japan in the year of 1945, did not have much resistance left in them to
fight the war themselves. I got this evidence from the fact that the Japanese had wanted the
war to be ended through the good offices of Russia. In this case, I feel that it was not right for
The United States of America to drop a atom bomb on the cities of Hiroshima and that of
Nagasaki in the war.
On the other hand, the history of the war also gives us the evidence of the atrocities of
the Japanese at the time of the World War II. In this situation, while I feel that America had
done some right by dropping the bomb. However, at the same time. I feel that America could
have been a little less violent on the Japanese in the Second World War.

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is sad to have had a large amount of
influence on the country of New Zealand itself. This is because of the fact the bombing of the
cities in Japan had helped to end the Second World War. The country of New Zealand was
under the danger of being invaded by the Japanese during the Second World War. As a result,
it can be said that the end of the war was an advantage for the country of New Zealand itself.

It can be said in this case that the threat of the nuclear war continues to be strong in
the world in the year 2019. This is because of the fact that various countries like that of U.S.,
Russia, India, Pakistan as well as North Korea is making new technological innovations all
over the world, some of which involves the use of the nuclear energy. It is the competition
which the counties have with one another might lead them to the nuclear war or World War
III in the future itself. This is because of the threat of the nuclear war between the countries
themselves.
The country of New Zealand had always aimed for a nuclear free legislation area in
the country itself. The country have various laws like the New Zealand Nuclear Free,
Disarmament and Arms Control Act in the year 1987, introduced by the Prime Minister
David Lange. This act prohibits the dumping of the radioactive waste into the waters of the
country which might cause problems for the people of the country itself. Thus, it can be said
that the country of New Zealand is a nuclear free zone form the old to the present times.
