Racism Against African Americans
Racism is the factor that describes the race of an individual. The description can be
based on colour or background of that person. The involvement of colour and background in
the community leads to various types of discrimination on the basis of them. The
discrimination of African on the basis of their colour in America was a whole period in
history which still has its impact on some people, places, etc of America (Tracy & Danice,
2011). The African who were the citizen of America, however are natives of Africa faced so
much racism in history regarding their colour. Their entry to any public place or to the house
of any random person was prohibited before. They were treated as slaves in past. However,
the great movement named as “Civil Rights Movement” leads to ending of legalized
discrimination of African Americans on the basis of their race, colour or background. The
movement was stared in 1954 and ended approximately in 1968 (Dennis Chong, 2014).
Based on that movement and the continuously changing global economy now the
discrimination of African American get so less, however it is still there but getting better day
by day and expected to eb removed from the community completely one day.
