Rainham, Kent in 1950s
Rainham Kent is situated at the South East England. It has shown a great
improvement since 1950s. In this period, there was presence of road transport using animals.
The picture demonstrates a man riding on a cart. Trade was the prevalent economic activity
and people used to transport their goods to the market through animal transport as compared
to today. In that period, people were religious and used to worship in the churches. The image
can show a building with towers on top. Another thing is that, people were social and
interacted freely in the streets. The cities were not very much busy as we can see people in
the streets mingling. There is low population. The population distribution is sparse and seems
like a big population lives in rural areas.

road network and full of vehicles unlike animal transport in the 1950s. There is minimal
interaction between the people as we can see no people in the streets but very busy, may be in

their work. The buildings suggest development of infrastructure as the houses seems good

because it descends into the river Madway (Cameron, 2015, p.26). The natural environment
is developed because there is incorporation of vegetation around the town. It is also
characterized by a higher rural-urban migration because the population in the town seems to
be higher as depicted by many and big houses.
