Historical developments of travel and tourism industry
The industry of travel and tourism first started to root
its development by the end of second world war in
1945. In 1950 some gradual changes have been
started taking place in travel and tourism sector. The
first change which could be possibly seen was in socio
economic sector which led to increase in car
ownership, overseas holidays, there was more income
level which let the people to travel more often
It was seen that by 1936 there was introduction of holiday camps which shall include catering and entertainment facility. There were certain activities also included in
camps which shall indulge children and parents both. It has also been seen that development also let the rise of seaside resort which was totally new concept for
consumers. It appeared very attractive form of tourism for people. Travel and tourism sector was not popular in early days. It took lot of improvements and changes
that led the travel and tourism sector to make remarkable developments in order to achieve success goals. There are many factors in history which have made certain
developments in the travel and tourism
Domestic Tourism- this structure of tourism
shall include resident travelling only within
their country of residence. That is when a
person wants to travel within the country
that is from one state from another is
known as domestic tourism.
There was also development in the technology like
introduction of jet aircraft, computer technology etc.
there was product development and innovation which
shall include development in the type of seaside resort,
there was introduction to holidays camps, package
holidays and long haul destination. Several changes has
been made due to the needs of a consumer and fashion
Inbound tourism- it shall be denoted when
a person who belongs to another country
loves to travel to domestic country. That is
non resident when take as travel to
residence country.
National Tourism- such kind of tourism
shall refer to domestic tourism and
outbound tourism which shall be carried
out within the country and not to another
country.
Outbound Tourism- when the tourism has
been carried out by the resident travelling to
another country from his own country. Such
tourism has been structured as there are
many people who loves to visit and travel to
another country.
