With advancement in technology, there is different type of changes that has taken place
in relation with development in music. Since 1900 , there is different type of changes that has
taken place and all these have positively affected preferences of individuals. Main focus of the
essay is done determining the changes that has taken place in relation with entertainment
industry.
History of music industry
Music of Australia is a part of unique heritage that has about 40,000–60,000 year history.
There are different types of music that are played in this country. In this context, it includes
indigenous music, folk music, country music, children music, R&B and soul music, etc. It was
after the year 1857 when recorded music was started in which people were able to sit back that
their home and listened to music (Negus, 2011). Then after the Second World War, it vastly
improved the communication technology. However, for music there was improvements that were
required to be made for morse code in which a sound synthesiser was required to produce tone
were used by musicians in order to create their first polyphonic synthesisers that was attached to
a keyboard and this provided the opportunity to record multi-track recording. Further, all these
improved with time.

It was after the year 1913 when radio industry actually began. In US, during the year
there were just 5 radio stations and by the end of 1940 there were about 765 of them. In the year
1919, Frank Conrad started broadcasting music in Pittsburgh ( Florida and Jackson, 2010).
Further, the use of crystal eliminated the requirement of battery or other electric source. With
increase in popularity of Conrad’s, it let to establish radio station in the year 1920.

In the year 1909, the first demonstration of instantaneous transmission for the image was
done by A. Fournier and Georges Rignoux. The use of television slowly eliminated the
preference of radio. However, the type of economy that people possessed was low and the cost of
television was high. Due to this reason it took some years so that people can actually use of this
technology (Taylor, 2012). The rate of entertainment raised tremendously as people were able to
listen as well as see the content.

Kelly Gang. Since then, there are many number of films that are made or produced in Australia.
In 1880, Athanaeum Hall was considered to be the dance hall and with regular basis, there were

1910 to 1920 was a boom period of Australian cinema as there were about 4 narrative films that

2010). Motion picture was set up in 1912 and most of them were held by Thomas Edison’s
Motion Picture Patents Company. Further, in the year 1950s Hollywood Freeway was
constructed at the northeast corner of Hollywood. Official opening of Hollywood was done in
1960 and this provided the opportunity to people to view the process of shooting.

King developed and this changed the view of pictures. People were able to change their view of
