INTRODUCTION
Health promotions is an important activity which is required to be conducted in different
areas of country on regular basis. It includes an appropriate purpose of making people aware
about several diseases along with precautions which can be taken by citizens to remain healthy
and spend comfortable life (Dowshen and D'Angelo, 2011). There are various kinds of critical
health issues which can be only prevented but not get cured by medication. This assignment will
be discuss about health campaign for raising awareness of HIV/AIDS by choosing target market.

Target market, campaign objectives and promotion location
The health issues are required to be prevented by taking appropriate precautions in
regular routine of life. It includes a problem that people are not having proper information about
facts and methods to reduce risks of critical diseases. In case of HIV/AIDS, it is a kind of very
severe health problem which is known as leading silence killer at global level. Several key
populations which are at risk of of HIV which are as follows:
Heterosexuals (Developing nations).
Men who have sex with men (MSM developed countries/Bisexuals).
Injection drug abusers or users.
Commercial sex workers (CSW), Migrants, Truck Drivers.
Newborns of infected Mothers.
Prisoners, transfusion recipients, professionals.
Sexually transmitted infections (STI) clinic attendees.
Adolescents or teenagers.
Target market – The target market involves young people of country because this group
of population is responsible for development of country (Mokdad And et. al., 2016). It is
essential to make youngsters aware about such critical health problems like HIV which helps to
attain better future for the nations. Spreading information about effective precautions to young
individuals will render support to reduce risk of HIV at a place.

Reduce risk of HIV by conveying about precautions : The issue of HIV is not a curable
health problem then it is mandatory to take effective precautions to avoid the same. It include
several pre and post tests to determine about HIV infection in body which involves ELISA
(Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Essay), Western Blot, Rapid Tests and Polymerase Chain
Reaction (Airhihenbuwa, Ford and Iwelunmor, 2014). It includes to take certain steps like having
safe sex by using condoms, avoid sexual intercourse with multiple partners, take medication to
save foetus from infected mother, avoiding drug abuse, using disposable needles etc.
Reduce misunderstanding about HIV : This includes about to wrong perception of
people about infection of HIV due to which they avoid to get in touch with an infected person
(Marchetti and et. al., 2011). It is necessary to make citizens understand that certain normal
factors will not spread infection AIDS that involves coughing, sneezing, touching, hugging,
exchange food/water, public baths, handshakes, work or school contact, sharing cups etc.
Support HIV infected individuals : The society treat individuals with HIV infection in
negative manner which results into low morale of them. Thus, it will facilitates to reduce hope to
live and force them to take wrong steps in life then it is necessary for people to provide support
morally and render comfortable lives to HIV infected group in society. People has incorrect
perception about spreading infection of HIV which is required to be changed by conducting an
effective campaigns including health fair for testing of HIV, activity using posters to convey
proper knowledge about precautions or mode spreading the same (Clarke and Olesen, 2013).
Promotion location : The health promotion campaign about HIV/ Aids is carrying out in
government hospitals of rural area to provide proper knowledge about AIDS along with effective
precautions. Thus, it will provide help to make them healthy and reduce risks of HIV in future.
CONCLUSION
The above report had concluded that various kinds of health issues are observed in
society which are essential to be reduced by taking appropriate steps. Thus, it is essential to make
people aware about critical disease called HIV/AIDS and convey proper precautions so that
people can remain healthy. It is necessary to provide proper information about this health
problem to young people which ensures healthy future of country.
