BRIEF 1
TASK 1
Part 2
According to my views, mental health is the most important thing in the whole body as
everything is connected with the brain. In the absence of proper conditions of mental health, the
well-being of an individual can be destroyed and challenges may be increased. It is very required
that every individual is healthy mentally for making decisions, responds to things, act on
contingencies and many more. I personally believe that, issues like depression, anxiety, and
related diseases can disturb the lifestyle and make it worse. If a person has good mental health,
then quick responses can be given to emergency situations. On the other hand, unhealthy mind
can take long time to give answers or take actions which may add on more problems (Kubacki
and et. al., 2015). A person has better control, ability and self-esteem to lead a healthy life. With
positive mental health, a person is able to solve the problem, reduce stress level and remove
negativity from the life. On the contrary, poor mental health may give rise to number of illnesses
which can be serious and remain for a long time. I think that, one has to be in the right mind set
to be able to act on different situations and take preventive measures in order to stop any
circumstances at a fixed extent. In considering the other angle, an individual is accepted in the
society who is healthy and mentally fine otherwise situations totally opposite can be observed.
Therefore, in order to tackle emergency situations, one must be in good mental condition and
control the circumstances before they take a different turn.

Structure of the Metropolitan Police in comparison with another similar organisation
The Metropolitan Police Service's structure is basically divided among four main
directorates that consists with different range of responsibilities. Basically, around 42,000
officers along with the staff, MET (Metropolitan Police) can be considered as United Kingdom's
largest police department. On the other hand, this department is holding an appropriate structure
along with the divisions of both skills and disciplines; that effectively helps in aiming to
maintain the agency to work in a fine manner.
If it is talked about MET's structure then it's personnel are specifically separated among
different sections and these are:
30,736 Police officers
9,077 Police staff
1,268 Police community support officers
1,843 Special officers (as of September 2019)
The Met comprises four business groups: Front-line Policing, Specialist Operations, Met
Operations and Professionalism (Structure, 2019).
Above mentioned Umbrella structure of MET Headquarters, is specifically something
which is handled by them and orders or delivers tasks to police officers and other staff
considering different elements like safety of People, Legal, Commercial and Finance, Media,
Strategy and Governance, Communications and Digital Policing. On the other hand, Shared
Support Services is also an essential section of MET, which helps in offering support and
transactional service. These basic services are enclosed with different strategic approaches like
hire to retire, finance and reporting, career transition/awards, referencing, procurement and
vetting, which helped them in becoming one of the largest and strongest police department of
United Kingdom (Bianchi and Mathews, 2016).
Moreover, all the four divisions are under control of Assistant Commissioner, who
manages and takes appropriate decisions based on the requirement. Away with this, if it is talked
about Management Board of MET, then it is responsible for undertaking situations that are
linked with uncertainties and giving strategic directions as well as this is directly composed with
senior police leadership.

Role of central government (National Government) and local government (Mayor's office) in
resources allocations and assess the impact in monitoring and accountability
In UK, there is important role of central government because there are many
organisations which are working, so it is important and relevant to understand changes which are
taking. There is requirement of proper resources through which operations of association are
performed in better and effective manner (Ghauri and et. al., 2016). When an organisation is
working, then they have to work as per norms and rules of government. For instance: in case any
big organisation, there is requirement of understanding policies with the help of which
employees are allotted with better and effective manner. It is essential for managers to allocate
resources in better manner through which performance can be improved. It is relevant for people
to understand changes which are taking place in environment with the help of which individuals
are able to make policies in lieu of understanding. When there is proper availability of resources
from government's side, then it is easy to monitor their actions and workers are also accountable
for which they are done.
In providing resources, central government plays crucial role. This is important to
understand and analyse changes which are important for understanding external market. If
organisation is using resources and other components, then central government organisations
work to check their working. Hence in this case there is less possibilities of getting impact of it.
As there is regular change in political policies,. Then in this case as well people have to
understand what strategy have to be formulated. This gives positive and relevant impact on
organisational culture because operations is performed in appropriate and relevant manner. If
resources are not used political for official purpose in organisation at UK, then managers are
responsible for its accountability (Hoppner and Griffith, 2015). This is the way through which
task is completed properly and there is less possibilities of societal growth and development.
When organisation is responsible for use of resources, then it makes management of association
to use in proper manner and in cases of any flaws, they are responsible for it.
The role of local government in disbursement of resources to the London Metropolitan
Police is important in nature and this will have direct impact over the power of this department in
respect to their functioning. The main role of the Mayor in resource allocation is with
appointment of adequate of number of individuals in staff for proper carry on the tasks. This will

brings an obligation upon the Mayor about the effective performance of police in London.
Another major role of Mayor in resource allocation is about disbursement of basic and important
amenities to the all the police person's. Another role in resource allocation is related to effective
disbursement of fund which is collected from the tax payers (Rana and Sharma, 2016). It is the
duty of MOPAC that effectively provide the funds to all the major personnels and department of
London police for successful carry on of their operations. There are many safety aspects which
are covered under the duty of MOPAC working includes better police service, effective criminal
justice, keeping children safe and tackling violence. In all this regard, different task force is
needed for the effective performance and achievement of results. The aspect of allocation of fund
is interrelated with the concept of availability of adequate number of individuals. This is so
because this will provides an opportunity to carry out the process of selection of different
personnels in different task teams.
The impact of the same is ascertained over the monitoring and accountability too. This is
so because no institution can work effectively without the availability of effective amount of
resources. So, if all the resources related to workforce and funds are effectively disbursed then
they can easily perform their functions with accountability (Sinkovics and et. al., 2016). So, to
bring obligation upon London Metropolitan Police, it is must to work by Mayor and MPOC with
full capacity in respect to the development of crime plan and resource allocation.
