INTRODUCTION
Sports clubs are playing significant role in the life of individuals as it helps in promoting
and developing the interest of students in a particular sport or any other physical activity. This
report is based on the local sports club in Tavistock known as Tavistock Hockey CLUB.
TASK 1
Current legislation that will affect the assistant coaching role
Under the Tavistock Hockey club, the coaches are required to take following
responsibilities according to laws and regulations of government.
Safe environment- The coach are responsible to provide various facilities and equipments
to the user which are safe and do not cause any damage or physical injury to the players.
Moreover they are responsible to take actions according to the weather conditions so that
competitions and practices don't get effected (Turner and Passmore, 2018).
Adequate planning of activities- The coaches within the club need to focus on planning
the activities in the appropriate manner so that no injury or poor learning take place. The
focus must be on improving and enhancing the skills and abilities of players so that they
can perform well and achieve their desire goals.
Knowledge of first aid- The coaches are responsible to have the basic knowledge of the
first aid so that in case of uncertainties and emergences they would able to provide help.
Moreover they should know about the STOP and RICER proceeder for managing injuries
(Tkach and DiGirolamo, 2020).

match and to increase their agility and balance. Hockey needs hand eye coordination and it also
needs concentration, these days coaches focus on the mental health of the players as it helps
