INTRODUCTION
Organization culture refers to values and believes through which they able to attain goal
as well as objectives in effective and efficient manner. These are basically unique social and
psychological values and environment of an organization workplace (Fallows and Steven, 2013).
Culture of a company include all things or activities such as treating customer and employees in
effective manner, manage time for conducting work, motivate as well as encourage employees
and many more. This assignment includes topics like evaluation of organization culture through
Hofstede’s model. Along with this it explains its effectiveness and suggestion regarding
respective model.

1. Critically evaluate the suggestions made in the article on Hofstede’s cultural
dimensions
Hofstede’s dimensions of culture are developed by a psychologist Dr. Geert Hofstede in
year 1970. This theory mainly discussed about guideline and framework which member of an
organization in conducting cross communication in effective and efficient manner. Along with
this it will explain how behavior of a member get affected or influenced by culture and values of
society. According to given report there are four types of business environments in respective
method, which are explained below:-
Individualism/ Collectivism: According to this environment there are two type of
employees or culture. First is individualism in which employee’s conduct their work for
them self and according to them. These peoples are mainly self oriented and conduct task
according to self. Whereas another type of peoples are who like to accomplish work in
group. By this an organization able to attain goal and objectives in effective and efficient
manner. At a workplace it is responsibility of manger and leaders to develop and
maintain collective environment so that work will get complete in effective manner.
Power Distance: This refers to power which an individual get while working on a
particular post. Along with this it is necessary for an individual to use their power in
proper and effective manner (Boud, Cohen and Sampson, 2014). By this they will attain
their goal and objectives in effective ways. Whereas if an individual not use their power
in appropriate manner they not fulfill their objective and accomplish task in proper
manner.
Uncertainty Avoidance: It refers to the situation which occurs within an organization in
uncertain time durations. So it is considered as responsibilities of a manager to prepare
themselves and their organization in effective manner so that they able to face uncertain
situation or circumstances in appropriate manner and effective manner. They must
develop strategies as well as plans by considering uncertain or unknown situation so that
they face in it in proper manner and attain goal in appropriate ways.
Masculinity/ Femininity: It is a situation which may occur at a workplace in respect on
discrimination on the basis of male and female gender. This situation may occur within

necessary for an employer to develop culture at their workplace in order to attain goal and
objectives in effective and appropriate manner. In respective methods there are some factors on
which I am agree and some on which I am not agrees. Factors on which I am agreeing is that
employer must develop collectiveness between employees so that they conduct their work in
team or group and in effective and proper manner. Along with this senior authority also must
develop rule and regulation in order to treat male and female employees in equally and
effectively. By this employees feel motivated and get encourage working in effective as well as
efficient manner. There are some factors which I didn’t like or agree such as uncertainty
avoidance, an organization must develop plans as well as strategies when in order to face
uncertain situation in effective and efficient manner (Groves and et.al., 2013). Along with this
employer also distribute power between employees in proper manner so that there is less chance
of conflict between employees. That directly leads to enhancement of productivity and
profitability of an organization in effective and efficient manner.

By evaluating and studying all factors which is given in case, there are various factors
which is effective for an organization if they adopt it in effective and efficient manner in order to
attain goal and accomplish task in proper manner. Suggestions which can be to an organization
according to the situation are employer must develop culture of collectivism so that every
employee feel connected to each other and accomplish goal as well as objectives in effective
manner. Along with this an employer also does allocation of power in effective manner so that
chance of conflict gets reduced or get minimum (Jackson, 2012). It is also responsibility of
employer to develop strategies as well as plans in order to face and overcome uncertain situation
in effective manner. Employer must consider and treat their male and female employees in equal
basis by this staff feel motivated and conduct their work in proper manner.
