INTRODUCTION
Hospitality industry plays very essential role in growth of economy of a nation as it not
only satisfies the needs of travellers but also provides good support in building wealth of
country. Several kind of business like pub, restaurant, hotel etc. comes under this sector who
provides different kind of services and facilities to travellers so as to satisfying their needs and
wants. Chosen organisation for this project is Holiday Inn which is a hospitality organisation and
based in Buckinghamshire, UK. Assignment will be discuss about the contribution of hospitality
in local, national or international economy along with different kind of business and their
offerings. Different operational roles along with required skills for performing this role will also
covered in this report. PESTLE and SWOT analysis for taken organisation will also conducted
so that positive and negative impact of internal and external factors on the profitability and
operations will be identified effectively. At last, report will discuss implications of current and
potential trend of hospitality sector.

P1 Different types of business within hospitality and products and services offered
In modern competitive world, hospitality is one of the largest growing sector across the
world because it represents the cultural values of nation to the travellers who comes in the nation
from different location. Each hospitality organisation have responsibility to provide effective
services to the tourists so that growth and sustainability of organisation can be maintained in
marketplace. This industry is segmented in several parts whose main motive is to fulfilling
required demands and needs of customers through providing effective facilities to them.
Hospitality industry includes several kind of businesses which are mentioned beneath along with
diverse services:
Accommodation: Accommodation can be defined as staying in hotel along with having
food, room or house boat. It is one of important aspect of hospitality industry whose main
motive is to provide comfort zone to travellers while travelling. It is segmented into several parts
such as hotels, resorts, camp grounds etc. that provides quality food and accommodation
services to the visitors. Whereas, Lodging is refers to providing place in hotels or resorts for
sleep somewhere to travellers during travelling (Madera,and et. al., 2017).

Food and Beverages: Range of this sector is also broad because it started from a normal
coffee shop to a luxurious restaurant because it provides several services to customers
which are defined as below:
Quick-service Establishment: This sector is also called fast food restaurant whose
targetted customers are those who wants expected services in a short span of time-frame.
Catering businesses: This sector is specially designed for providing food and beverage
services on special occasions like wedding, seminars, kitty parties etc.
Full-service restaurant: This sector of food and beverages offers meals, drinks and
many more at a specific place to guests in which guests comes, books table and order food
whichever they want.
Travel and tourism: This is a broader concept of hospitality industry that is specially
designed for providing travelling services to travellers. It includes train, cruise, airlines in
its services along with organises formal and informal tours for business, education or
entertainment for different kind of travellers.
Entertainment: Visitors when visits at a new place they wants some extraordinary
things so as to making their trip more enjoyable or comfortable. Therefore, this sector is
designed in hospitality sector that offers sports, gaming, pokers, casinos and many more
