Project Description
Holiday Inc. is a well-known airline company in Australia, which provides mainly airline
operations and services. Now the company wants to expand its services throughout the world
including freight transport, food production, and airline operations as well. The company is
looking for a new information system that will give support in everyday operation and services
of airline systems. The travel service reservation system, flight reservation system, HRM
systems, finance system, and marketing systems are included in this new information system.
This information system will provide booking management services in the area of flight
and travel service reservation system. Holidays Inc. will also offer non-flight facilities to their
customers, such as travel insurance, travel activities, car hire, hotel, and other transport services
through the implementation of new information system.
The company through the HR management system will provide that will be included in
the new information system of Holiday Inc. provides the benefits policy to its employees
including insurance, profit sharing. The human resource management system will operate the
training and recruiting process, which will provide recruitment functions in the company
including available positions, application status. Holidays Inc. will also organize the training
session for their new employee’s skill development. These new information systems can handle
the financial transactions within the company. It will provide real-time account information and
controls the billing process and the account summary of the customers (Williams, 2017).
Holidays Inc. is the growing airline's company in Australia, which aims to provide quality
services to the customers and the employee as well. The customer can select a cheaper travel
package to save money with the best quality of services, where services will be provided through
the new information system project.

Scope boundaries of the project
The travel service reservation will offer to the customers of non-flight facilities such as
car hire, hotel, travel insurance and many more. This system will provide maximum information
regarding all travel services to the customers where the customer trends can be analyzed through
the search or preference histories using the information system (Srisaeng, Baxter & Wild, 2015).
Customers can get huge benefits by accepting these facilities as they can hire a car through the
web application of the company, where maximum information regarding the journey including
fare, car model, seating capacity, pickup, and drop locations is displayed in the application. A
customer can choose these options according to their requirements and the payment method is
made through the credit cards only for both ordinary and frequent flyer customers. Consumers
can change by adding or removing the non-flight facilities in the system. One of the key benefit,
which will be gained through providing the transport facilities of rental cars is to grab a large
customer base in the public and thus to have opportunities for maximum financial benefits (Ali,
2016).
The human resource management system through using the information system will also
have the scope to enhance the skills of their employees in Holiday Inc. The new information
system will help Holiday Inc HR management to review the performance of employees and thus
to provide feedback accordingly. Based on the feedback and performance, identification of the
skills and training needs can be deployed and thus can help to develop the employee skills
effectively in Holiday Inc (Gregson, 2015).
The all-financial transactions of the airline company are handled by the accounting and
finance system. This system can make a valuable decision on the future of the company. It will
collect the payment and refund information of the customers in order to prepare a financial report

for auditing, that can help them in strategizing the customer choice and thus to develop
marketing strategies (Karádi, Csiszár & Nagy, 2015). This information system can provide a
real-time account for information. All activities in the airlines regarding flight bookings which
will be sent to the sales and marketing departments can help in deploying the strategically
approach through reviewing and analyzing the sales information (Tubigi & Alshawi, 2015). The
aim of this information system will to find clients and making sales. Each information systems
will be interconnected with each other that will help to generate payment reports and the
information about incoming and outgoing payments of the customers.
Stakeholders of project
There are mainly three types of stakeholders, who will be involved in this project.
Customer, suppliers and the management of Holiday Inc.Management of Holiday Inc will be
involved n terms of strategic and marketing approaches of the services, which will be provided to
the target customers. On the other hand, customers will be the users of the services and facilities
that will be provided by the Holiday Inc and thus will have a direct impact of airlines service,
price and other additional benefits. Suppliers will be responsible for the rental transport services
of the cars that will be served to the customers.
