1.1 COMPARE PERSONAL VALUES AND PRINCIPLES WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF
SUPPORT FOR WORKING IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE
Personal values are defined to the principles, ethics, and beliefs that one has and plays
important role in one’s life, while principle explains the standards of one’s life (Parks-Leduc, et
al. 2015).
SELF-REFLECTION
Personal values and principles Effects on the principles of support in HSC
Value Life I value the life of people and believe and
safeguarding each individual present in the
HSC homes because every life is precious.
Respect According to Equality Act 2010 followed in
HSC homes they also believe in treating each
patient with full respect without
discrimination on any grounds such as caste,
creed, gender, nationality etc. (Haque, et al.
2017)
Honest I believe in maintaining privacy in the HSC as it
helps in protecting the important information
about the service users in the care home and
also this comes under the Data Protection Act
1998.
Kindness I believe providing quality care to the service
users in HSC so that they could be provided
proper care and I treat them with care and
kindness giving proper medication.
Diversity I believe in fundaments of workforce diversity

as it enhances the work competence of

related equally and no religious preference is
given.

1.2 ASSESS HOW PERSONAL CULTURE AND EXPERIENCE INFLUENCE OWN
ROLE IN SUPPORTING USERS OF SERVICES AND OTHERS IN HEALTH AND
SOCIAL CARE SETTINGS
Personal culture and experience impact the supports and care of care users within the HSC in a
totally different way. Just like everyone else I also have my own culture and beliefs that
influence my role in supporting care users in a care home. Such as I am European I eat both
kinds of dishes veg as well as non-veg so I may not be willing to treat or facilitate people who
prefer more haram food, but my services will be much better than a Brahmin or Buddhist
service provider. Also, a Buddhist or Brahmin service user might not permit me to touch and
treat them as their culture won't allow this. But no matter what my culture always taught me to
treat all with equal respect no matter to what religion or caste they belong to. Also, my
personal experience suggests that older patients must be given full freedom hence my working
practices won’t include any kind of decimation on any grounds. My personal culture and
experience ensure to provide equal and fair services to all the patients in a care home.

1.3 DISCUSS HOW NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND CHANGES TO PERSONAL VALUES
CAN IMPACT ON WORK IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE
New developments and changes to the personal values of any person leave a major impact on
the work. Any sort of changes no matter in beliefs, technologies, values, behaviour has a major
influence on the working practice in HSC. Also, I have noticed there are several new legislation
and policies, principles that have impacted on my working as a care worker. Such as according
to Care Act 2014 there is some new accountability of the local working bodies (Penhale, et al.
2017). This act also has main implications for care and housing providers and for individual
utilizing care services. The other act is children and families act 2014 under which provisions
regarding families, children and individual with disabilities are focused. I am happy that I adopt
all these legislations in my working. With increasing the change in the personal values of the
person it will be easy to give service users an effective service in the HSC. This development has
helped me to keep concern the risk regarding the uncertainties within the HSC homes and try to
safeguard the care users form any kind of harm or injustice.

4.1 EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PERSONAL CONTRIBUTIONS WHEN
WORKING WITH OTHERS IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PRACTICE
Performance of every person working in the health and social care has an importance in HSC.
Also, there is much effectiveness of everyone's contribution at the time of carrying out work
practices in HSC. I keep on working with a positive attitude and motivate my team members
and colleagues to work with same as it keeps the environment of care home pleasant by
spreading positivity. Also, I try can use my communication skills effectively so that I can interact
with care users and other staff properly and they must be given every required detail. I
personally believe in working in a team so keeps on promoting it as team working proves to be
beneficial for the care home as it enhances the effectiveness of working with all the group
members. I keep on sharing the ideas I have, I experience I have gained with my team members
o that they could gain the beneficial points from them and improve the working of the care
home. I always try to be supportive of everyone in the care home and help everyone who seeks
my help so that effective output can be obtained by their better work practices.

4.3 ANALYZE OWN ROLE IN MINIMIZING BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE
TEAMWORK IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PRACTICE
Teamwork is the key factor that builds up the foundation of the effective working in the HSC.
There are few barriers that obstruct the way of maintaining effective teamwork and those
barriers must be removed so that the practices in HSC can be carried out with efficiency:
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Inappropriate communication channel is a big barrier in
carrying out proper teamwork as it leads to misinterpretation (Knapp, et al. 2014). So I
would manage proper communication by conducting meetings, involving team members in
the decision making etc.
MOTIVATIONAL STRATEGY: I will also use motivational tactics to encourage my team
members to perform well in the workplace and will guide them where ever I find them
wrong and will also motivate them appreciating their good work.
CHANGING LEADERSHIP STYLE: Leadership is an effective approach to manage teamwork
by guiding the team also I will look after the leadership approach I have adopted and its
effectiveness if I found it not that useful to remove barriers to effective teamwork I will
immediately switch to another leadership style that suits the most top specific scenario.
