Conducting a Personality Test
I took the Holland Personality Test for this journal assignment. I thought that it was easy
to comprehend, and the questions were fair. According to Niles and Harris-Bowlsbey (2017),
John Holland’s theory of types has been described as providing a relationship between one’s job
and personality characteristic. At the same time, he also believed that the choice of an individual,
attached to his or her career is perfectly related to his or her personality (Ohler & Levinson,
2012). As a result, people will seek out an environment that they are most comfortable with in
exercising their skills and values. Moreover, the questions were not bias since they were able to
meet the required conditions and not even a single question was able to bring controversies. This
self-assessment was categorized in six different categories including realistic, investigative,
artistic, social, entrepreneurial, and conventional. According to my results, some of the groups
that I was able to score highly included; conventional, social, and entrepreneurial. Honestly, I
was surprised by my results. Before I read some of the descriptions of the different categories, I
thought that I would have scored higher in the realistic class and less in the entrepreneurial
category. However, after I read the descriptions of each group, for the most part, I agree with my
results.
