Introduction
In the year june 2009, “National Southwest Border Counternarcotics Strategy” was
reflected by “Secaetary of Homeland Security” and Attorney General Eric Holder. This plan is a
important element of the complete national report to the threate beside the border.
Administration also increases the border related workforces and stuff to eradicate the claim for
prohibited drugs in the United States (ncjrs.gov, 2020). The national prepareadness directorate
(NPD) communicates and directs the people to become more happy and zesty. It helps people to
increase the capibilities for preventing and protectanism against all threats and hazards. NPD
guides, provides training programme to the people and community to aware the people for
hazards (FEMA.gov, 2020). The responsibilities which is carried out by NPD are as follows:

National Integration Center (NIC)- It develops a guidance and techniques to tackle their unique
preparedness of absorbing the mechanism and implementation strategy for the immediate
responding to emergency.

Following memorandum was proposed by NSWBCN strategy to the governors of the
boarder states that running an operation against drug and corruption could be very multifarious.
As it is not so easy to concentrate on a particular suspected activity and decleare that issue of
drug trafficking, weapon trafficking and even human trafficking has been traced. “National
Southwest Border Counternarcotics Strategy” is important elevators of the ample reply of
nationalism in the concern of threat along with the boarder (Maya & Carlos, 2019).

amount of $394 million for the homeland security department. Funding in justice would upsurge
the existence of federal law in the southwest border districts with the help of seven ATF
gunrunner and FBI hybrid task forces. Except the supplemental, this was also authorized by the
president to deploy of extra 1200 national guard troops to the boarder.

It was a matter of concern at that time, the Southwest Border faced many threats related
to the operations of drug cartels, mafias and syndicates as well as the drug trafficking channels
by the terrorist to smuggle WMD (Rosenblum, Bjelopera & Finklea, 2013). A significant portion
of this violence increase actually reflects to the Mexican government and US government in
disrupting the activities of the drig cartles and all terrorism activity. After notice by the US
government they came up with some policies and share strategies with the Mexican government.
To dismantle the drug cartels in Maxico systematically and also it seems to be a threaten of
national security which is also of US neighbours, thus the US also responsible to stopsuch
violence in both the countries. Therefore under the guidance of presiden Obama, (Combating
Border Violence, 2020) Department of Homeland Security has been released and stratigies
related to that also adopt.
The Southwest Border’s security and management is a priority of homeland security
because of certain reasons. The border itself is prone zone for the terrorist and anti-national
activities (Croddy, Larsen & Wirtz, 2018). This area was used to transact criminal organizations
from Mexico. Despite of implementing the NSWBCN strategy there is lacking something to
control the malpractice in the border area and it needs to be revised. DHS has to be considered
some points while it will get updated these are:
Poor cooperation, corruption and poor technology needs to be reviewed. Here corruption
is playing a big role which can facilitate most of the banks, it helps hide the transactions. Worst
immigration process where a terrorist can get an easy access to use weapons, so its also to be

checked. Expansion of motivation to use nuclear weapons. In the concern of SWB policy
(Carter, 2016) its foresting the healthy and productive partrnership while there is an existing one.
The homeland security department needs to work togather with some other strong agencies,
some private sector as well as the Mexican authorities. The other policy needs to be improved
that is information and intelligence sharing. A clear guidelience might to build for intelligence
sharing among the partners. This exchanging is very important for the stakeholders in border
security and for transactions of the criminal organizations related activities and terrorists. It is
required to assure the safety of the United States. Some resources also to be matter of review
beside these. Funding is a justified resources to run the management properly. So government
needs to disburse the adequet fund to help the border security operations.
