Introduction
Homophobia is a term to describe the disliking about homosexual people. Homophobia is
considered as a socially constructed fear against the homosexual people that leads to
harassments, bullying, and other forms of violence.
Discussion
According to the research, same-sex parents often observe bullying experience
considering the experience of the school environment. Hence, the parents generally follow some
strategies to navigate the system of school. One of them is to select schools popular in handling
diversity in terms to family structure by using ‘Self-imposed invisibility’ (Fedewa, Alicia and
Candelaria). The sexual minority parents possess a right to exhibit the concern to take initiative
against bullying circumstances within the school environment. Hence, schools and training
organizations are expected to infuse the concept of cultural diversity and teach the students to
enhance the cultural competency. Diversity should be an inevitable and integral part of academic
schedule. There are various models that helps the teachers to manage diversity within school
environment. One of them is pedagogical approach that introduces gender related conversation to
bring the sexual orientation within school personnel
The rate of school-wide harassments are increasing on a regular basis. Hence, teachers
should take initiative to facilitate harassment free environment to promote diversity within the
institutions. Hence, there are various agencies that provide trainings to implement harassment
free environment with minimum amount of fee.
