Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment presents a research analysis of the peer-reviewed article "Nurses’ perceptions of horizontal violence" by Taylor (2016). The analysis includes an introduction highlighting the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing, followed by a detailed examination of the chosen article. The analysis is structured using a matrix that evaluates the research's strengths, limitations, relevance to the topic, and key notes. The study's constructivist perspective, reliance on primary data, and the relatively small sample size are noted. The analysis also addresses the impact of horizontal violence on nursing practice and patient care. The assignment concludes with a summary of the research process, emphasizing the strategies used to identify and analyze peer-reviewed articles using databases like CINAHL and PubMed. The student reflects on the challenges of selecting a research topic and the importance of using limiters and subject headings to refine search results. The student also mentions future plans to utilize resources like Google Scholar and PubMed to enhance research skills. The assignment underscores the critical role of research in informing nursing interventions and practices.

RESEARCH ANALYSIS 2
Introduction
Nursing or rather, the heath professional relies on Evidence-based practices. It isn't
straightforward to use EBP without research. It,therefore, means that research is basic among
healthcare professionals. However, this is not an easy task. It involves identifying, analyzing,
and synthesizing research articles to come up with a new paper (Shellenbarger, 2016). In this
assignment, there wi be a research analysis on one peer-reviewed article and provide a
summary of the report at the end.

Step 2: Summary of Analysis
Identifying and analyzing peer-reviewed research is not an easy task. Studies note that
this is the most complex and critical task in the process of research (Shellenbarger, 2016).
The first thing I did was to select the topic of interest, followed by identifying reputable
resources or databases to obtain relevant articles. I decided to settle on CINAH and PubMed,
followed by a search using the search dialogue boxes. My interest was in evidence-based,
peer-reviewed articles, and the flexibility of the CINAH made it easier to identify the item of
interest.
While searching for peer-reviewed articles, different strategies were employed.
However, some were very effective than others. One of the strategy was using limiters to
only peer-reviewed articles. My objective was to get only peer-reviewed articles, and the
availability of these limiters was quite useful. This, therefore, allows one the freedom to
select the type of items he/she is interested in. The other strategy is using subject headings.
This strategy is beneficial because it provides articles with the relevant subjects that the
researcher is interested in.
In the future, I intend to use different resources to find various peer-reviewed articles.
The Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Heath literature (CINAHL) is one such resource
that I find useful, very effective when looking for health-related items (Walden University
Library, n. d). This resource is easy to use and has both basic and advanced search options, as
we as cited references. The other resource that I intend to utilize in the future is google
scholar. Finally, I am also looking forward to using PubMed. This is the most reliable
resource and allows free access to various articles.

RESEARCH ANALYSIS 6
Conclusion
In conclusion, research is necessary. However, it is not that easy. One has to employ
different resources such as PubMed and use different strategies after that to identify reliable
literature or peer-reviewed articles. It is, therefore, imperative that a researcher is we versed
with knowledge about the resources to enhance their research skis since it is the foundation of
proper nursing practices or interventions.
