The report has been prepared to drive a comparison between the two international
hotel lines in the hotel industry which are Crown Towers Perth and The Westin Perth. They
are the five-star hotels and in their business are very popular among visitors. The hotels
chosen have the same types of services offered by them to their customers. In the report, the
comparison of their prices has been done with the two different alternatives for the same time
of reservations. These two alternatives include the price derivation from the official website
of the hotel and the Priceline which is a website to book hotels and other facilities. The
comparison has been performed taking the prices of the same type of room in both hotels.
Introduction
This study shows the price comparison for the hotel bookings in Australia. The
selected hotels for the purpose are Westin in Perth and Crown Tower Perth which both are
located in Perth, Australia. The hotels are ideal for the comparison work as both the hotels
provide for luxurious stays and are five-star category hotels. The hotels hold the Google
rating of 4.5 and 4.6 that is very close and thus amounts for a better comparison. The study is
conducted by analyzing the hotel based on different types of rooms provided by them and
then performing a price comparison to derive required results.
Hotel Crown Tower Perth Overview
The hotels of Crown Tower Perth are renowned for their luxurious accommodation
facilities provided by the. The hotel provides the stay in large and luxury styled rooms with
the options of rooms with the view. The hotel is a 5-star group of the hotel in the industry and
offers the customers luxury and comfortable stays in Australia.

The Crown Tower Perth is one of the hotel lines of Crown Perth business with about
500 luxury room facility. It is a five-star hotel located in the Crown Entertainment Complex
(Crownperth, 2019). Its infrastructure consists of 481 rooms and villas over 38 floors. The
hotel is located in Perth Western Australia at the Great Eastern Highway Burswood.
The hotel's room facility is categorized into different types of rooms with different
special features of their own. The categories include; Deluxe king or twin, Premier King or
twin, Studio, Executive Club Suite, Premier Club Suite, Premier Club View Suite, Deluxe
Villa, The Pool & The Enclave, Crystal Club and Crown Towers Industry Awards. Apart
from these categories it also provides some luxurious stay facilities such as Super King,
Premier Club View Suite, and Loft. Each type of room has some special features which make
the customer comfortable and happy in their stay (Crownperth, 2019). The hotel provides
excellent facilities which are liked by the visitors as analyzed with the Google rating of the
hotel which is 4.5 out of 5.
The Westin Perth Overview
Westin Perth offers its guests luxurious accommodation facilities. It offers 5-star
services and has a dynamic location which is the city center. The Perth accommodation
structures modern design and artwork in their hotels. It is part of the Marriott International
hotel line which has expanded its business in almost all the countries of the world. The hotel
consists of 368 room designed with the hotel full amenities to provide satisfaction to its
visitors as rated at 4.6 on Google by its happy visitors (Marriott, 2019).
The different types of luxury accommodation rooms provided by the hotel includes
Deluxe King, Deluxe Double, Premier King, Deluxe Family, Club King, Club Double,
Westin Suite, Club Suite, and Executive Suite.

Price Comparison of the hotels
Both the hotels are luxurious and are five-star category hotels which provide for great
dining, spa, fitness, pool and other experiences (Jim, 2015). The room and the hotel
infrastructure attract visitors to the place. Besides being a lot of similarities the prices in hotel
industry differ from one hotel to another because of the existence of differentiation in the
services and quality of stay provided by the businesses.
A comparison has been done on the prices of Crown Tower Perth and The Westin
Perth for their Deluxe King rooms as both the hotels offer the deluxe king room facility and
the comparison is better with the common type of base for comparison. Therefore, the prices
of both the hotels for three days of August from 2nd to 4th are made. The days on the stated
dates falls to be Friday, Saturday and Sundays which provides for the busy schedules of the
industry and hence an idea about the charges of the said hotels on the weekends (McManus,
2016).
The Priceline website has been used to derive the rates of rooms for the said dates.

It is to be noted that the prices of the hotel are lesser when the booking is done for two
days in a single go however the prices for individual day booking is higher. Another
derivation from the table is that the hotel is charging a lesser amount for Fridays but the

Saturdays have the highest of the prices. Also, the prices of Crown Towers Perth are more
than that of The Westin Perth.

quotation of prices for rooms by the official websites of the hotels (Ronayne, 2018). The

Change in Price and selection of booking mode
It is to be noted that the Priceline website provides better prices for the hotels than
their official websites also it has been observed that the Saturday is the busiest and costly day
of both the hotels (Kwek & Lee, 2013). This is because the Saturdays are weekend and
people usually prefer outings on the week offs. In such a scenario, the demand for the
accommodation places increase and with the increase in demand the supply could not be
increased. The supply of the available rooms is fixed and the rise in demand takes place and
thus according to the forces of demand and supply the prices of the rooms are increased. And
again the room of Crown Towers are costlier than The Westin Perth despite being the same
category hotel with the same facilities and services because of the brand value created by the
Crown Towers over time.

Conclusion
The study has explained the facilities and infrastructure of the two big 5 star hotels of
the Perth, Australia namely, The Westin Perth and Crown Towers Perth. An analysis has
been undertaken in the report to compare the prices of the two hotels which fall in the same
category and still having the major differences in their prices. The comparison has been done
for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For the prices of the hotel's room, the rates are derived from
two different sources which are Priceline and the official sites of the businesses. The
comparison has been provided in USD and AUD currencies. Graphs and tables have been
used in the study to understand the data in a précised and better way. The conclusion derived
from the study is that the general prices of Crown are higher than the Westin and thus the
customer should take the decision according to its other preference as the price analysis is
provided by the report.
