AI Summary
This report presents a comprehensive IT network architecture design for XYZ Hospital, a four-floor facility with departments including finance, IT, medical services, and human resources. The existing network infrastructure is outdated, relying on Cat 4 cabling and a single server running Windows Server 2008. The proposed design incorporates high-end servers with specifications such as Intel processors, ample memory, and dual Gigabit Ethernet. User computers are recommended to be upgraded to Dell PCs with Windows 7 Professional. The network design utilizes Class C IP addresses with subnetting for each floor, employing devices like Cisco 3640 series routers, manageable C3750V2-24TS-TS switches, and Cisco ASA 5500-X series firewalls for enhanced security. Cabling is upgraded to Cat 5e for improved performance. A detailed cost analysis estimates the total project cost at $70,700, encompassing servers, user computers, printers, RJ45 connectors, routers, switches, and cabling.

Scenario
XYZ hospital is located in four floor plan building. The hospital has four major
departments which are the finance department, IT department, medical services department, and
the human resource department. The medical department has the highest number of employees
who are 100 medical professionals. The finance department has 20 employees, the IT section has
five employees, and the human resource department with 10 employees. All these members are
required to be access wide area network and to connect to share one shared printer.
Introduction
This is a network design plan for XYZ hospital. The first part will give an overview of
the organization. The second part will highlight a network design and floor plan of the building.
The third part will show IP addresses and subnets, used devices and cable types. The last part
will be a cost analysis of the whole project.
Background of the organization
XYZ hospital specializes in cancer consulting services. With the current technological
needs, the current network infrastructure can’t cater for the organizational needs; the network do
not meet the requirements of the modern network standards. Cat 4 type of cabling has been
utilized. There no access to wireless access points. The hospital has only one server which is
installed with windows server 2008. The user computers are installed with windows XP expect
the IT department user computers with windows 7 professional. The organization utilizes only
one switch to connect to all the PC computers in the organization.
Proposed Server requirements
The organization need to note that server is the most important element in the
organization. It acts as the brain of the firm. Server dictates how resources are shared and how
