1HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT
Hospital Information Management at Bayside General Hospital:
The Bayside General Hospital is an ever-changing popular community. Its motive is to
enhance the quality of care and raise market share of health care services. However, many questions
are rising regarding the management of Bayside’s community.
Firstly, the following study determines the sufficiency of their systems to face administrative
aims. Next, it answers why it is still insufficient. Thirdly, it analyzes how technology is utilized for
community changes. Then, it identifies how hospital information management gets affects by the
previously proposed projects. Next, types of strategic planning model are discussed to improve
business objectives further.
The Radio Information System is useful to track radiology imaging orders and different
billing information. Bayside’s nursing information system has been assimilating primary tasks of
nursing cares. Their Hospital Information System has been automating inventory and administrative
functions and electronic medical records. Further, their Decision Support System has been analyzing
business data and presented that such that users can undertake business decisions effectively (Jylhä,
Bates & Saranto, 2016). Financial Information Systems has been investigating and accumulating
economic data for optimal financial planning and forecasting results. Lastly, Electronic Health
Record has been helpful to retrieve information available securely and instantly.
However, the above systems are not sufficient as there is lack of problem-solving processes
and support of decision making and human learning. In other words, there is no knowledge-based
system. Moreover, there is no proper order entry or results that can report intensive care (Weaver et
al., 2016). Hence, online communication of physician orders, patient information between ancillary

and nursing departments is absent. Further, there is no proper planning of destination designated
regarding data storage or data repository, in one word.
Different possible projects for the current case include diagnostic decision making and
therapeutic decision making. The former one formulates various diagnosis by critical findings from
physical and history examination. The later one would understand benefits, risks and compliance
issues.
Various technologies like digital conference facilities are helpful to offer access to digital and
audio-visual facilities for conferences. Besides, near Field Communication provides users with
abilities to exchange data among devices (de Carvalho, Rocha & Vasconcelos, 2015).
The proposed projects would impact hospital information management both within the
boundary and outside the area like e-healthcare and telemedicine. Further, it will be affect treatment
flow for a patient and empower workforce to perform duties smoothly.
To meet the future business objectives, a self-organic approach is more suitable for Bayside
General Hospital. It would be beneficial for clarifying organizational values through dialogue
techniques. Moreover, it would continually reinforce value for patents and dialogues (Peltier, 2016).
This strategic planning model focuses on learning instead of a method. It is beneficial to agree on
how to do portray outcomes of the planning of key stakeholders.
The study shows more research and development is required in various critical sectors
assuring systems meet necessities of researchers, administrators and practitioners. Need to protect
patent privacy must balance by the requirement for timely access to data at various sites.
