1)- How did I contribute to the task?
I contribute to the task by collecting data about the hospitality industry, inserting images,
and making presentation on this and by searching what all different types of business and
departments covered in this industry.
2)- What part did I cover?
I have covered P1, M1 part. Where I learn about what are the different types of business
within hospitality industry and what products and service they offers to customers.
3)- What did I learn about the different types of businesses within the hospitality industry
and the diverse products and services they offer during the presentation prep, group work
and collaboration?
From this presentation, I learn that hospitality industry has four categories travel and
tourism, food , accommodation and entertainment. And in terms of product & services they
provide quick service establishment, catering business, full service restaurants and lodging
accommodations. This all provided by the industry to serve its customer in a better way.
4)- What did I learn about the operational and functional departments within the chosen
hospitality service, tell us about the interrelationships between them? (Tell us your answer
in relation to the case study you used as a group).
As operational department is a department which mainly works in housekeeping, kitchen,
food & beverages department while functional department consist of marketing
department, HR department, logistics department, finance and research & development
department which helps in finding customers needs and demands.
5)- What did I learn about the contribution of the hospitality industry to local, national and
international economies, in this task?
Hospitality industry is one of the fastest growing industry all over the world almost it
contributes 10% of the worlds GDP. As it contributes in local, national and global economies.

Local: Hospitality industry contribute to local economy by generating revenue when tourist
spend money on hotel and restaurants and it also supports in infrastructural growth for the
economy such as roads and transportation for tourist- oriented areas.
National: It contributes to national by lowering taxes on real estate development to boost
the investment because there is a accurate shortage of good quality accommodation in the
country. It also creates employment opportunities for thousands of people because it covers
many services like event planners, restaurant servers, tour operators etc.
International: It also contributes towards the economic growth as many investors finds a
hospitality industry as a major source of investing there money for future growth.
6)- What did I learn about the use of franchising and licensing agreements and how they
have influenced the development of the hospitality industry?
Franchising and licensing agreements are discuss below and how they help in influencing
the development of hospitality industry:
Franchising: Franchising agreements comes with large and trust fan base, logos and a brand
standard. This helps the industry to enhance its customer and gaining their loyalty.
Licensing: It is agreements when hotel owner makes a contract with hotel brand. That helps
the brand and provides some rights to the owner.
7)- Tell us about how global growth has contributed to the economic worth of the
hospitality industry?
An advancing in technology and reduction cost improves the product & services of
hospitality organisation and this leads to attract more tourists towards hotels and
restaurants. Globalisation also helps customers in choosing wide range of destinations. To
attract people, the country should have enough money to complete the basic requirements
of people on luxurious restaurants and tourist friendly destinations. Another reason is that
there are lot of jobs available in the hospitality industry. This will increase the employment
opportunity for the locals.
