Introduction
Every manager needs to be motivating in order to bring out the best in the employees as well as achieve
organizational goals. The delegation of work and allotment of responsibilities should be done astutely. The
person to whom the work is delegated should have the necessary skills to complete the task.
This study will focus on self-assessment of skills possessed by an individual. The study also focuses on the
requirement of planning a self-development plan and steps to be taken to achieve these developments. It also
sheds light on the various styles of management and in which way these styles affect the work culture as
well as the atmosphere at the work place.

The methods of managing tasks and people can be described as management styles. There are
many management styles and each have a different approach. Some prove to be more effective
and some lesser. These styles may vary depending upon various factors such as work culture,
characteristics of managers and employees and others (Benfari, 2013).

TASK 4B
Specific Leadership style
The participative management style should be the perfect choice in taking care of the work and
lead the show. This method or style proves to be best when the leader has a part of knowledge
required to run the show and the other skilled sub-ordinates possess the other part of the
information (Gonos and Gallo, 2013). The subordinates should be welcomed to give their inputs
in the operations and help in carrying out the tasks smoothly. This allows them to become a part
of the team and build a sense of belonging amongst the members. This form of management
leads to increasing the responsibility of the employee, formation of self managed teams,
strengthening of teams to face every challenge and many other positive outcomes. The
participative method gives birth to creativity and innovation at work with ease as the employees
are set free to give their inputs and complete the tasks with perfection in the way they feel
comfortable (Kocher et al., 2013).
At the show at Olympia, London, the team shall consist of a leader and three sub-ordinates. The
leader should help the sub-ordinates to understand what they need to highlight on while speaking
to the potential customers or clients. The leader shall use the participative style of management
to delegate the work and be part in the completion of the tasks at the show. The leader should
care about the way the products and service offered by their Corporate Event Planning Company
should be showcased should debrief the sub-ordinates. The leader should be able to motivate and
participate with the others in displaying all the services and products.

TASK 4C
Sales strategy
The team of four at the show will follow the sales strategy of being flexible and having a perfect
pitch. The team will definitely come across unique demands from the potential clients during
the sales conversations. They need to be flexible in offering the service and products in best way
possible without making the company suffer and make a sale. Saying negative statements to the
clients defuses their willingness to hire the services and the products being sold. Saying a no can
be making the customer feel the services and products offered by the person at the show does not
possess problem solving qualities and instantly closes a door full of opportunities. The selling of
products should be delegated in a manner that each member is comfortable in providing a perfect
pitch of selling and knows all the details of the product. The pitch used by the sales person
should be attractive, having all the details of the product and the benefits the clients will receive
by choosing the product or service. The pitch should be able to make the client want to purchase
the product and be impressed by its features.
Sales Script
1. Welcoming and Greeting
In this step the client needs to be welcomed and greeted with utmost politeness. The sales
person should be able to make the client comfortable.
2. Enquiring
The sales person in this step needs to enquire about the requirement of the client. The enquiry
should be effective and should be able to identify the exact requirement of the client.
3. Presentation
The presentation of the product and product details needs to be communicated well to the
clients. They need to understand the features of the products and in which way it is going to
fulfill their requirement with great satisfaction.
4. Sale
In this step the sale is closed and the client appreciated for choosing the products and services.

POTENTIAL IMPACT OF STRATEGIC DECISIONS
Strategy is all about how uniquely an organization implements those ideas. In all sectors the
strategic decisions are taken to give the best economic growth to the organization. The strategies
are of two types
 Good strategy (for long term achievements)
 Bad strategy ( for short term achievements)
Good strategy always try to enforce such ideas in the company which will generate good revenue
in the long term, but bad strategy are implemented very easily in the organization to avoid hard
sides of the business (Sull and Sull, 2015). So the feasibility of such strategies depends on how
those strategies are being implemented. When a product gets a decrease in the selling price, it
can be overtly accepted by the customers, but the management should think about both the
positive and negative impacts of such decrease.
As the selling price is decreased therefore the management has to compromise with the quality of
the product. Other thing what happens due to the decrease in the selling price is that the profit
level decreases on the net volume of the product. The price strategy has to be implemented in
such a way that it generates revenue the most for the organization (Guo and Zervos, 2015). Due
to such pricing strategy the organization has to be functioned in such a way that it brings benefits
in a long run process. So the strategy which seems impractical in the beginning can bring good
revenue in the future. So a dip in selling price can bring changes in the net profit of the products.
Penguins based in UK is the chosen organization and how they have used strategies to make their
services provided in a proper way to their valuable customers.

Role of Team Members to achieve goal
According to the Belbin’s theory on team roles one can easily find out that he postulates such
structure to get the most outcome from the organization in a limited period of time. The different
team members in a company are
 Monitor Evaluator : One who has an efficient skills of decision making
 Resource Investigator : One who has efficiency to find out the strategies required for
decision making, as well as in making a good network with teams
 Implementer : One who focuses on the practical solution to find out the best outcome
 Team Worker : One who maintains a coherence in team working, without any
interpersonal conflicts
 Completer- Finisher : One who pays detailed attention on each task to be completed in a
organized way
 Specialist : One with deep knowledge in his service with a strong technical background
To bring a diversity in a team it is required to work together with people from different
backgrounds. In any big organization the team management makes such arrangement among the
team members so that everyone has the capability to work together to bring out the best outcome
(Steinbacket al., 2017). Penguins based in UK is the chosen organization in this project which is
a big name in event management industry. In event management industry everyone has to work
with proper strategy and a proper field work before implementing such strategies. So the team
leader has to incorporate all the above mentioned diversities in his team to execute the event in a
proper way. Time management is another big region to focus on as the team leader has to deliver
his work in a stipulated time.

Task 4F
Efficient communicative style for motivating a team
For the success of any organization, it is necessary to have strong communication skills. To bring
the team together it is necessary to maintain a healthy communication among the team members.
The basic theory of Communication comprises of:
 Encoding
 Transmits
 Decoding
 Response
So an individual decodes a message sent to him through a stimulus, understands the analytical
status of the message and encodes it for further communication purpose. Usually verbal and non-
verbal communication are used to communicate among each other. So for an event management
organization like Penguins communication is the only way out to carry out the task in a proper
way. So the Resource Investigator and Team Worker in a team are the ones who maintain the
strong communicating skills among the team members. But at some point some barriers come to
communicate in a team. Communication is always about a bi-directional process, so if there is
any barrier appears in communication it is mandatory to skip such complex channels. While
working in a team there will be a diversity in personality (Canale, 2014).
For the best outcome for Penguins the HRM should take strategy to bring out fruitful result to an
organization. So it is the responsibility of Implementer to find out the best strategies among the
team members without using any complex mode of communication. In a team there will be a
presence of difference in approach to a problem due to coming from different background and
preconceived prejudices regarding a job. So both the transmitter and receiver should act in
coherence to response a stimulus coming to them. Usually it is noticed among the team members
in misusing the language, due to the improper association with such words as well as poor way
of communication (Hofert,2015). Statements should be circulated among the team members in
such a way that it gives solution to the problem in an easier way, and both the receiver and
transmitter should be good in communicating with each other.

Task 4G
Motivational Techniques to prepare and execute the show
For the organizational growth, the leader should implement such motivation techniques which
will bring out the best outcome from the fellow team members. The three techniques usually
used by the leaders to carry out the projects
 Autocratic : where a leader becomes a dictator to carry out the work
 Democratic : where a leader shares his opinion with each member to make a decision
 Laissez-faire : in this approach the team members take decisions as the team leader trusts
his fellow mates
In any big organization the techniques that should be implemented by the leaders is Democratic
and Laissez-faire techniques. In an organization like Penguins where the service has to be
delivered to the customers at a stipulated time efficiently, so a team work is mandatory there. If
the team leaders approach to the team mates in these two techniques where he is keeping the
opinion of his team mates at first and this approach will definitely encourage the team mates to
work in coherence (Goleman,2017). It also shows that the team manager gives importance to the
opinion of his fellow mates, and that will bring commitment of the team members to their project
which creates a warm work culture among the team mates. The team leader can take such
techniques only he has the belief on his team members as well as the decisions made by them.
The team leader should also look after the critical approach of the project and whether such
strategies can complete the project in a stringent time frame (Northouse,2018). So the main aim
of the leader is to follow a strict time frame to deliver his work to his clients efficiently.

Task 4H
How the Team Members work together to achieve the goal
Each team member of Penguins in Olympia Event Production Show has showed his skills in an
effective manner. So from the Belbin’s proposed theory where everyone has to work in union to
bring out the best outcome for the project to leave an indelible mark in the even production
show. There should not be any barrier to communication between the receiver and transmitter
and the verbal communication is mandatory to carry out the work. The project is designed in
such a way that it has incorporate all those innovative strategies to make their sales different
from other teams. The organization culture in Penguins which have been taken are Democratic
and Laissez-Faire. In both of these motivational techniques the team leader has given freedom to
the team members to carry out the project. But due it is examined that due to such high level of
freedom the team members do not take the project seriously.
To get the best outcome from the project it is mandatory for the entire team member to follow
the strategy made by the team leader (D’Innocenzo, 2016). In the given project as the team
leader put the responsibility to the team member to make the decision, therefore there is a flaw in
executing the plans. So there can be a paternalistic style of approach where the leader does not
put the entire responsibility to the members. Due to this procedure the leader can monitor the job
assigned to each member in the team. The leader can also look at the work procedure of the
member in a minute way. In this procedure the leader can keep a high level supervision on his
fellow members.
May be this approach appears to be autocratic in nature and no freedom in the work culture, but
the work can be completed in a particular time frame efficiently. The leader should build up a
perfect teamwork among fellow team members. A proper orientation among the members is
needed to carry out the work. When a team works together each member should think about the
adverse situation they can face during the work procedure, and it is the psychological support
one needs from the team to carry out the work (Nasrudinet al., 2015). So a warm relationship
should be maintained among the team members. As the task is structured from beginning so the
work can be assigned perfectly with a time limit to the members.
