EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report is based on the hospitality management regarding a specific business unit
(Hilton hotel resorts). This includes the various issues and managerial challenges faced by the
business. The evaluation of existing management theories and implementation of theories in
business organization. This also includes some initiatives and new management theories to
overcome the existing issues and managerial challenges. These new theories are Fredrick Taylor
management theory, henry fayol's management theory and some traditional powers.

INTRODUCTION
Hospitality industry includes the variety of services provided by services industry which
includes various wholesale category of services (Akova, Cetin and Cifci, 2015). These are
transportation, event planning, hotels etc. it is a way of relationship between the guest and host.
This report is based on Hilton hotel and resorts. It is the global brand of hotels. It is named after
its founder. The report covers the issues and challenges faced by the organization and
recommendation for its internal changes. It also include the management theories and their
applications in the organization through which it overcome from its issues and challenges.
MAIN BODY
(1). Causes and effects of the managerial challenges with in the Hilton hotel resorts.
Hilton hotel and groups are a brand of hotels in global (Carvalho, 2018). But, it has also
some issues where it not proper resources or skills. It has to work on these for better competing
the competitors in market. Some of the issues as follows which are weaknesses for the
organization:
Not wide level of network: Not much-developed network Not having enough number of
country hotel networks in Europe and N. America to be fighting, in competition with
different great, much ornamented five -star country hotels working there.
Higher dependent relation of owner: Hilton is dependent on other country hotel owner
organizations since it does not put forward as a fact the greater part of its housing
networks.
Problems in china: The workers in china was not creative with new idea or not expert in
day to day coming trends. So Hilton group faces problems in china.
These issues can create huge problems for the organization. So business have to ready
itself to grip the signs of danger in the market picture of view. Competition or increasing number

of player in the market with the same value of statement are big issues for it. Some of the future
managerial challenges may have to be faced by the organization due to some reasons as follows:
unique candidacy: There are huge competition in the market and hence it poses a high
challenge to the organization in the sense of income and future business growth.
Political issues: political changes affect the managerial decisions at a wide range. Due to
unsafe country condition visitors not prefer to visit the country and tourism decreased day
by day. Which affect the business at vital level?
Cost of staying decision: Managers are disable ton take decision about the cost of
staying in hotels resorts for the customers due to rapid changes in economic factor.
Which affect the in competitive market.
(2). Management theory which exist in the business and interpretation of managerial problems
and issues.
The business follows the motivating style of management in the organization. It follows the 3
management theories or it can be said that in business 3 management theories exist (Horton,
2015). These are as follows:
Behavioural management theory: According to this theory there are face to face
conversations and monthly meetings held in the organization. Business adopt the first
name policy. It followed the team building exercises.
Management science theory: That theory follows the quantitative techniques. By
adoption of that theory the managers gave the ratings to their employees according to
their work. It gave some compliment labels on some products about the employees.
Science management theory: By implementing that theory the business minimizes the
input cost and increase the output productivity by betterment of performance (Mhizha
and Mandebvu, 2012). The business conduct the organizing activities due to that exist
theory.
These above discussed are the existing theories of management which Hilton business
follow. But, the business faces some problems and challenges due to existing theories as follows:
Conflict arise due to first name policy: Some time according to behavioural theory
managers faced the issues about the first name policy. Some employees didn't want to
adopt that policy.

Ignore the qualities human resources: The management science theory explains the
quantitative factors of management which was ignores the qualitative factors of
motivation. Some of the employees not satisfied for this which arise a conflict for the
managers and become a challenges for them.
Ignores the quality of output: The third implemented theory only about the minimizing
cost of input but ignores the quality of output. Later it become a challenge for managers
because the customers demand for the quality as well.
(3).The initiatives and proposed actions for better outcomes in future by implementing new
strategies, theories for betterment in new outcomes.
The business follows the various management theories and strategies for a creative
management (Tegegne, Moyle and Becken, 2016). But managers face some issues and
challenges due to adoption of these theories. The new recommendations for better outcomes and
which decreases the issues and challenges of managers are as follows:
Fredrick Taylor theory: Business may improve their existing better outcome scheme
by applying the Fredrick Taylor theory. According to that by adopting piece rate plan
efficiency and effectiveness both can be increased.
Henry fayol's theory of management: by the help of implementing that theory the
existing challenges of employees conflicts and unsatisfactoriness can be removed. That
theory helps in implementing better initiative, discipline and division of work.
Elton Mayo’s Behavioural Theory of Management: That theory explains the
techniques of better qualitative productivity. By implementing that theory along with the
existing theory the qualitative challenges can be removed from the business.
Using traditional power: The existing business policies can be improved by using the
traditional powers. The changes of modernization sometimes didn't suit to the business
so it may need sometime the existing powers.
Other modes of overcome from challenges: Other issues like political related can be
removed by future forecasting and location related can be resolved through the setting up
business entity at suitable location by analysing needed factors in advance. Cost can be
calculated by the estimating maximum cost + minimum profit margin (Vöge, 2016).

4. Timescale:
From the above Network diagram, this can be rightly said that it has two paths. First is
the simpler and esaiest one which go through 1,2 and 3. While other one is from 1 and 3. Here,
1st path is longest 1. While, second path is the shortest route which is considered to be ideal one.

CONCLUSION
At the end of above report it can be concluded that the hospitality specific business the
Hilton hotel resorts faces a lot of managerial issues and challenges. It follows various theories of
management for betterment of its outcome. But, apart from that it need some other management
theories for better performance of business activities and to overcome the managerial challenges.
Some of the theories such as Fredrick, henry fayol's and other management theories are helpful
for that business organization.
