Research Methodology
Research Philosophy
The research philosophy selected for this investigation is positivism. The reason for using
positivism is that it is comparatively more representative than other research philosophy option
such as interpretivism. In addition to this data can also be quantitatively analysed by following
positivist research philosophy (Giovenco and Spillane, 2019).
Research Approach
The two options for adopting a research approach are deductive research approach and
inductive research approach. This investigation is conducted by the usage of deductive research
approach. The justification of using deductive research approach is that the concepts can be
measured quantitatively and generalized results can be gained.
Research strategy
Questionnaire, case study research and interview are some alternatives for selecting a
research strategy. This investigation is completed by usage of questionnaire as the research
strategy because it supports quick collection of data which is relevant to the research. The usage
of questionnaire is also beneficial as it can be used to collect specific data about the research in a
less expensive manner.
Data Collection
Qualitative and quantitative data collection are the two types of data collection techniques
which can be used for completing the research (Jackson and Bazeley, 2019). Quantitative data
collection technique along with qualitative data collection technique will be used for the
completion of the research. The justification for this decision is that it supports usage of both
quantitative and qualitative data to gain more accurate outcomes.
Sampling
Probabilistic and non-probabilistic sampling technique are commonly used for
completing a research (Mitzenmacher and Upfal, 2017). This investigation utilizes probabilistic

Literature Review
Environmental Impact of hospitality operations
According to the views of Rajak (2022), the hotel industry is a significant part of the
overall tourism industry and is also one of the most significant contributors to environmental
problems caused by the hospitality industry. Hotel operations on the collective scale lead to the
production of large amount of carbon dioxide. Hotels And other type of accommodation services
contribute 2% and 5% global carbon dioxide emissions in the tourism sector (Environmental
Concerns relating to Hotel Industry, 2022). Release of excess greenhouse emissions climate
change environmental devastation and unfair treatment of employees are common practices in
large scale hotel companies. This April business operations affect environment negatively on a
large scale and contribute to global environmental damage.
Benefits of sustainability in hospitality organization
As per the views of Hallstorm (2021) there are various benefits for improving
sustainability in hotel organizations. The primary benefit associated with improving
sustainability of hotel businesses is that consumer preferences have changed and large number of
consumers look at sustainability of their accommodation service provider to ensure that they do
not have high negative impact on their environment (Hotel Sustainability: Why Hotels Should Go Green,
2021). Sustainable travel or false experiences in nature for urban consumers in a clean
environment which enhances consumer satisfaction. In this way hotel businesses cannot only
reduce negative impact on climate change but also enhance consumer satisfaction by providing
them a clean hygienic and green environment.
Ways of improving sustainability in hospitality organizations
According to the Viewpoint of Joshi (2021) eco-friendly hotels are defined as the hotel
businesses which have adopted sustainable ways in products to protect the environment and
promote green living by using organic products and clean energy (Go Eco-friendly and Save
Nature With These 10 Sustainable Hotel Practices, 2021). One of the most common ways of
improving sustainability of a hotel organization is to avoid the usage of plastic and follow
recycling reusing and reducing philosophy while using plastics in daily Hotel operations and
services. In addition to this, becoming more digitized and promoting paperless daily operations is

also a suitable way of becoming more sustainable as a hotel company. It is a convenient and fast
serving business practice which also promotes sustainability in hotel organizations.
Chapter 4
Data Analysis
Thematic data analysis is one of the most common ways of analyzing qualitative data which
helps determine the main themes and patterns present in the data collected for the research. The
metric data analysis of the qualitative data for the present research is provided below:
Theme 1: Environmental damage of Hotels
Hotel organizations have contributed to large scale environmental damage because the
hospitality services provided by hotel firms and other accommodation service providers involves
usage of large amount of energy and have not considered reviews of reducing energy
consumption and waste production in various hotel operations. Maintaining aiding and clean
environment for the consumers and providing them the most swift don't do my service so that
they do not face any inconvenience during their time with the hotel leads to high levels of energy
consumption in comparison to other organizations of the tourism sector or organizations from
other industries (de Souza Meira and Hancer, 2021). In addition, so this high competition in the
hospitality industry in particular the hotel industry prompts hotel organizations to indulge in high
energy consumption initially in order to attract consumers to their enterprise and gain
competitive advantage. The concept of sustainable competitive advantage is a very recent idea in
the industry because it is one of the most unsustainable sectors of the tourism industry. It is
important that large scale multinational hotel organizations focus on improving sustainability
because in comparison to small businesses in the hotel sector large scale multinational for plates
have larger contribution environmental damage caused by hotels.
Theme 2: Necessity of sustainability for Hotels
In the current age sustainability is an important factor which is considered by most organizations
in the hospitality industry during business strategy formation because consumer preferences are
changing (Filimonau and Brown, 2018). Consumer in the present age prefer sustainable travel
over cheaper travelling which damages the environment. The rising consumer power and impact
of social media in increasing the ability of the consumer to impact on profitability of a business

in hospitality industry through negative reaction it's forcing hotels to adopt more sustainable

Them 3: Sustainable Actions taken by hotels
Business poems in the hospitality industry are not only adopting common sustainable practices
such as recycling but are also facilitating and investing in innovation which can help improve the
sustainability of the hospitality sector and various hotel operations (Gupta, 2019). This along
with the usage of clean energy sources and promotion of eco friendly travel can change the face
of hotel industry from and unsustainable business sector to a green portion of the hospitality
industry.

CONCLUSION
From The above research it is concluded that completing a research on a specific
organization involves creating a clearly defined aim and set of objectives so that the research
problem can be identified. Developing insert questions which help attain research objectives is
also an important part of conducting a systematic research specific topic. Research methodology
so there's various areas of a research such as the timeline of the research and the research
philosophy used for completing the research which is essential for systematic research
completion. Literature review and data analysis by the usage of secondary resources is an
important part of conducting research and teaching a valid conclusion under determine research
aim.
