INTRODUCTION
Planning and execution of that planning in an efficient manner is key of the success of
hospitality sector which is being consulted (Jones, Hillier and Comfort, 2016). This present study
is going to show some managerial challenges like retaining skilled employees and others which
hospitality sector of the UK is facing. Further it will also show roles of management theories as
well as action plan in solving all managerial problems and improving operational efficiency as
well.

Causes and effects of managerial challenges within hospitality sector
Hospitality sector of the UK is facing several problems related to management which is
affecting their performance to the great extent. Some managerial challenges include:
Retaining and finding skilled workforce: Getting skilled workforce for the hospitality sector is
one of the main challenges. If they find skilled workforce then it becomes difficult for them to
retain them because of changing needs of customers, structure and others. Due to changing needs
and changes in external business environmental factors employees find difficulties to cope up
with them and changing their style of performing. It also increases work load so, it is the main
challenge.
Changing or Mercurial needs of customers: One of the main aims of managers of hospitality
sector like hotels, tourism organizations to satisfy needs of customers. But customers in this
sector have more bargaining power and their needs keep changing due to changing lifestyle and
others. It puts pressure on them to change style of performing, changing strategies and others
(Brandon-Jones and et.al., 2016).
Technological advancement: Increasing use of technology is somehow affecting it to some
extent. Due to advanced technology all companies in this sector are trying to provide excellent
services to customers which is increasing competition and reducing revenue. Implementation of
some techniques and investment in technology can increase overall cost of the company.
Workplace safety problems: Hospitality sector is the one whose preliminary aim is to satisfy
customers and employees. Hospitality sector keep several informations of customers while
booking their tickets, hotel rooms and others. Customers generally have some problems in giving
