INTRODUCTION
Leaderships means helping an organization to develop motivation and coordination
between workers working within an organization. In this file personal statement is to be covered
with leadership skills and also personal reflection is done upon the skills.
MAIN BODY
Industrial analysis of hospitality sector
This the tool which has been used over facilitating upon organization's understanding
upon making relevancy over companies and the product sold by them. In hospitality industry
various kinds of factors is been used over such analysis and they are as follows:
Competition in the industry: It is one of the most important factor which impacts an industry
like hospitality. In hospitality sector various competitors are there which hampers the growth of
an hotel by impacting its profit and sales.
Potential of new entrants into the industry: This means that when a new hotel enters in the
market of UK it affects other hotel as customers gets substitute and shifts to another hotel which
provide better service in low cost.
Power of customers: In this customers are divided into three section rich, middle and poor. As
per there demands an hotel is required to perform there activities which help them in gaining
large customer base.
Personal statement
As I am looking for job within hospitality sector on profile of hotel manager. I am required to
accomplish basic requirement, skills and knowledge to match the profile in order to gain long
term sustainability. Objective behind the job in hospitality is to enhance my management skills
and staff management with improvisation in my presentation skills which makes me more
productive towards my job. This helps me in seeking better opportunities within management
sector of Hospitality industry. Also this profile helps in seeking unique and innovative ideas
within the hospitality sector. My vision is to makes my objective achieved.
Self-reflection:
After deciding about the job position that I am searching for that is hotel manager. In this
I am required to make analysis over management of staff and other processes within the hotel. So

to make my role more affective I am required to be focused over various skills like
communication, cooking, managing, listening, accuracy, adaptability, grooming, customers
service skill, cultural awareness, multi tasking, ethical skills and team working. These skills is
going to help me in building various capabilities within me that is going to enhance my career
(Mo, Ling, C.D. and Xie, 2019). Through communication I am able to convey my information
in more effective and efficient manner this has helps me in making interaction possible with all
members working with me. Then such skills makes me convey each and every information
regarding task in more efficient manner. The skill is able to make me develop confidence within
me by making more and more interaction possible. Also communication skills helps me in
analysing of problems in more impactful manner. Then cooking skills these are one of the most
important skills that is been possessed by me and has been helping in preparation of food
possible. Cooking skills has helped me in making different types of dishes which has to be
served to customers. Then I have learned about various cuisines like French, English and Thai
cuisine. Also cooking skills has made me develop innovation within the food that has to be
prepared which ultimately makes my skills of cooking to be enhanced in more efficient manner.
Further listening skills is also very important skill as being an hotel manager is helpful for me as
it makes me listing to all kinds of problems within a hotel. Listing skill helps in making better
understanding over various kinds of aspects to be covered in hotel industry. I have realized that
in order to be a good manager one must be a good listener which helps in managing of staff in
better manner. Then I should be multi tasking it helps in making various kinds of work to be
completed in more effective manner. Such skills developed within in me helps in understanding
of all the aspects that is related to hotel management. Listening skill makes appropriate
information to be heard in better manner by making everyone speak out there opinion. As a
manger listing ton everyone is must that is going to make better understanding to be developed
(Laajalahti, 2018).
Also I am required to develop managing skills within me that is going to make
enhancement of staff management and other process to be managed. Managing is an important
part in hotel management as it make various abilities to be developed. Also through through this
skill I am able to make various possessors to be performed with more positive impact. In this
human resource management is also included that makes selection of employees to be done in
right manner and candidate to be selected as per the profile. That how Managing is going to help

me in making my job profile for management to be enhanced. Adaptability and grooming has
helped me in making knowledge to be developed regarding all kinds of department within hotel
industry. Grooming has been done within me through training and development program as this
mainly develops specialization and innovative techniques in me. Ethical skills has been
developed in me has made me realized that why is it important to keep working environment
healthy and safe. This skills is going to help me in maintaining discipline and order in hotel
industry. Ethical skills has make development of basic sense of ethics within me and my
knowledge over ethical issues has been enhanced. This is important from view point of legal
aspects that can be real issue for me at the time of holding the posts. Cultural awareness as a
skill has taught me that various trends and traditions exists within hospitality industry that has to
be developed within me. These skills makes me understand taste of customers which makes
formation of policies to be done in appropriate manner possible. Cultural awareness is one the
basics aspect that is required for every job profile in hospitality industry. Also I have learned that
cultural awareness helps in understanding all kinds of sensitivity that could exists regarding
particular community. The another skills that I have learned about is teamwork which makes me
learn the value of coordination and collaboration which help in accomplishing of task with more
efficiency and within the time period that is been specified for it. Teamwork is required to be
there within me as it helps in making work to be divided into various persons that required
workload or pressure. Team work is one of the most effective skills that makes departments to
coordinate with each other in proper manner. Such skills has made various other development
possible within my job profile and add positive impact over my job CV. Other basic skills like
language, organizing and commitment skill has also been developed by me which has made me
developed my personality from all over aspect (Kalyar, Usta and Shafique, 2019). Language skill
has helped me in learning various languages which has made attending of guest all over the
world possible. Then commitment skills is helpful for me in gaining trust of my higher officials.
Organizing skills makes me develop sense of arrangements which helps in achieving task in
better and more effective manner. All the skills that has been mentioned above is helpful for
various profiles within hospitality industry. These skills has made all over development of my
Job CV that has helped me in selecting right job as per my interest. I developed a familiarity with
the work in the beginning in a way that I am an hospitality person and the work serves my
interests. I was excited to do the job as this is my first job and I am going to learn lot of things

form it. I learned these skills by making various kinds of practices through Personal development
plan or goal setting. Out of the skills mentioned above the most appropriate skills I developed is
of cooking that has made me learn about various aspects related to it. The problems that I faced
in learning these skills is rigidity, less flexibility and slow learning process. I deal with these
problems through my friendly and less aggressive nature. My progress has been quite stable now
and I feel more confident in terms of working with productivity.

Comparison of any two leadership styles along with their benefits in this industry
Leadership is the ability of an individual to influence the person or a group of persons in
a particular direction. Inculcating the leadership style is very much important as it helps in
performing the work in a more effective way. The leadership quality would help an individual in
gaining self confidence in himself. It also helps in attaining the goals and objectives which has
been planned. A leader leads the group and provides a particular path to his members. There are
some other goals of leadership also, some of them may includes, improvement of communication
skills, development of a different charisma, gaining of the confidence, increased awareness about
the various topics and much more. There are various types of leadership skill which an individual
can adopt or inculcate in himself. The type of leadership skill which I believe to have in me is the
transactional leadership skills and transformational leadership skills (Feng and et. al., 2018).
Transactional leadership skills is a leadership style in which the leader's major focus is
upon the completion of specific task and he motivates his team members by showcasing him the
rewards and punishments. It is also known as managerial leadership. This theory is based upon
certain assumptions. Some of these assumptions are:
Chain of command: It means that a proper chain or hierarchy needs to get followed when
giving the command. A team member should receive the command from a single boss only. If he
receives the command from more than one then it might create misunderstandings or confusion
to the individual. By taking the command from one person, a proper clear path about can be
formed upon which the team member can effectively walk (Duan, Liu and Che, 2018).
Use of rewards and punishment strategy: The leadership follows the strategy of reward and
punishment. A leader is very much clear about their goals and objectives. He provides the
rewards to the members who have performed very well in their performance. Apart from this he
punishes the people who have not performed that enough in his work.
Monitoring: The activities and the actions of the team members are clearly get monitored. The
proper monitoring is performed so that the risk of increase in gap of standard performance and
actual performance can get minimum to its best.
Obeying of instruction: Here the member needs to obey the instructions of the leader. They
need to follow exactly what the leader has commended to them to perform.
Transformational leadership is another type of leadership in which the leader works
together with the team members to identify and work together in analysing the change, setting up

for the goals and objectives, and much more. This type of leadership enhance the motivation,
confidence and the internal willingness of the employees to perform better. The motivational
level of the team members gets increased all the decisions are taken with the consultancy of all
the members. Together the leader and members decide for the areas where the change is needed
and together they come up with a particular solutions so that they can bring up the change in a
more smooth and effective manner. Here the decisions are taken by taking the ideas and opinions
of all the members and then final decisions are achieved.
In my practice, I inculcate both these leadership skills. The type of leadership skill
depends much upon the situation I am into. If I want to establish the things or change rigidly and
make my members work then surly the transactional leadership style is used. But if I need to take
the decisions of employees or other team member for deciding of any goal or objectives, then
transformational leadership skills are used( Dhar, 2016).
CONCLUSION
From the above file it is concluded that leadership is one of the most important aspect
that helps in developing motivation within the employees. Then in this file an personal statement
is given over job requirement. Also personal development plan is prepared and in the end
leadership style has been compared.
