INTRODUCTION
Hospitality skills are crucial to have work with customer facing environment. This sector
is large and covers areas lodging, food and drink service, event planning, theme parks,
transportation, cruise line, travelling and additional fields within the tourism industry (Suarez,
2018). Thus, there are different types of skills required in the hospitality industry to perform the
job effectively such as High Level of Customer Service, Good Communication Skills, Formal
Training, High Levels of Cultural Awareness, Have the Ability to Multitask, Work Well in a
Team, Be Flexible etc.
Thus, present reports is based on evaluating skills relates with hospitality industry.
Therefore, Assignment will cover personal SWOT analysis to find out strength and weakness.
Lastly, personal development plan will be planned to get over from weakness.
SWOT ANALYSIS (Personal swot)
Personal swot analysis helps to identify the personal strength and weaknesses. Therefore, a
person can Conduct their own Personal SWOT Analysis to success your Career. T his, there are
four stages to find their own Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat. It is a common tool
many firm will use in their professional world to evaluate the past, present and future position
of a company. On the other side, A personal SWOT analysis can do the same for an individual
in pursuit of their career goals.
Strength
Creative mind — I have an ability to make some creative ideas, I have ability to impress
clients by presenting the product new and innovative way that directly impact on the brand
reputation. Thus, I have ability to provide the best customer services by ensuring that I can meet
all the requirements of customer timely and, also ensure that the needs is always full fill by
putting their happiness at the forefront.
Good communication skills — This is one of the best ability I have, Therefore, working in
hospitality industry is essential to communicate with customer effectively and softly (Liu and
Rynbrandt, 2018). Thus, in this industry, It requires a lot of communication between customers,
staff and management. Thus, I have ability to provide the services timely in order to enhance
the demand of customer. Thus, effective oral and written communication must be executed at all
level of operations. To succeed in this industry, this ability of effectively communicate will be
helped me to in mu future career time and time again.

Good interaction skills- I have good interaction skills that this skill helps me to identify the
new and current market trend in hospitality industry. Therefore, I effectively interact with others
and ask questions to identify the nature of market. This, by using this kill I also provide the
helps to firm that what is the needs ans wants of customer, Therefore, to identify the needs and
wants firm makes the best product to success the business (Milligan and Mehra, 2018).
Weakness
Fear of public speaking — I have issue when I am presenting some new and innovative ideas
to the customer and clients, I get nervous and this reduces my motivation towards the work.
Thus, this fear of public speaking is affects my personality and demotivate me towards the work
by reducing my passions.
Compulsive behaviour — This behaviour is suffered my work negatively. Thus, I have a
strong compulsive need to do thing quickly and its affects my performance (Wasyehune, 2018).
Thus, the habbit of doing work fast it creates the negative impact on my performance as my
quality of work is suffered. On the other side, the compulsive behaviour is enhanced by stress
level because I doing work fast and it affects my quality of work.
Opportunities
Improve English speaking — I can join the English learning clubs, it helps me to enhance my
skill that I can speak fluently English in order to attract the customer and communicate easily
with staffs customer, clients and management.
Choose right path — This is the bet opportunity to improve my career by choosing the right
Path. Theretofore, to adopt the new and good course it helps me to enhanced my future career.
Quality of course — This is another opportunity that helps me to make my future bright. Thus,
I can grab this opportunity and improve my quality of course. There are different types of job
opportunity in hospitality industry such as Hotel general manager, Hotel clerk, Bellhop Meeting
and convention planner, Concierge, Maitre d'Executive chef, Reservation ticket agent etc
(Ansari, 2018).
Threat
Language barrier — This is the biggest threat for me because there are different types of clients
who have different language and cultural attitude. Thus, this Language barriers is affect most on
my performance as I am not clearly understand the different languages and so, I am not able to
satisfy the customer.

Lack of self-control — I have disadvantage that I am not controlled my behaviours is affect my
carrier. Therefore, Self discipline is one of the most important requirements for achieving
success. The hospitality industry requires the discipline in the work place and lack of self-control
is the biggest threat for me.
Laziness — This is the biggest threat for me that I am not done my work on timely. Thus, its
affects my performance, and I am not able to complete my work timely as it takes too much
time. Therefore, this behaviour is the threat for my future career because the senior manager of
hospitality industry is not support this types of behaviour.

This is the process that helps to creating an action plan of individual that helps to
enhance the future professional career based on reflection, goal-setting, awareness, values, and
planning for personal development on the reference of a career, education, relationship or for
self-improvement (Razu, 2018).

speaking. Therefore, learn to work faster understand the feedbacks and review to improve the
work quality.

From the above project report it can summarize that hospitality industry provide the
various opportunities to expand Carrier opportunities to individuals. Thus, there are different
types of jobs such as Concierge, Event Planner, Executive Chef, Hotel General Manager etc.
Thus, this job position requires different types of skills to perform the job effectively such as -
require excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and good personal
grooming. Creative problem-solving etc.
The present reports has covered evaluation on varied skills relates with hospitality
industry. Furthermore, report has described the personal swot analysis to improve the career.
