There are certain operational issues which is faced by hospitality
industry in UK which are:
• Globalisation
• Food Miles
• Staff Turnover
• Skills Shortage

Hospitality business is affected by legal changes and laws of
country. Some legal problems are:
• Brexit : It has created a major impact on hotels and other
hospitality-related business. The result of Brexit has created
large number of unemployment as 60000 employees of
European Union state has turned down there jobs.
• Allergens: This law was formed in year 2014 for all the hotel,
restaurants and other business which operates in hospitality
sector. It has affected revenue of many hotels because of
inaccurate information provided by employees to customer
with regards to food allergens which results in hefty fines and
serious consequences.

3.2. Discuss the current image of the hospitality
industry
• The impact of Brexit on United Kingdom has shaken the
economy with downfall in GDP of 1.5%.
• Brexit has made a major impact on employment sector of this
business as large number of skilled labourers who serves the
hospitality business of UK belongs to other European Union
states which results in large number of migration from the

create opportunities for UK hotels and restaurant as huge
number of supplies spike in London and other parts of United
Kingdom has opened opportunities for opening of more
