INTRODUCTION
In this assignment, we will discuss the Hospitality Provision in Travel & Tourism Sector. The
Hospitality industry tries to satisfy the customer need and wants by given them some services.
Services are like transportation, house, food and many different facilities. In this, we will also
discuss the relationship between travel and tourism and hospitality (Chathoth, and Olsen 2017).
These both industries is increasing today scenario. In this, the hospitality is basically used for the
hotel and the houses and on the other hand tourism include some travel agency, trains, etc.
In service and the tertiary industry, the hospitality sector and industry are the main part of the
services (Chathoth, and Olsen 2017). As per the new technology is introducing different
country are aware of some new adventures places. Most of the country is supporting the tourism
sector because they are very supportive of employee and also for increasing the revenue of the
nation. Previously the hospitality is measured by the quality of goods and services (Chathoth,
and Olsen 2017).
To figure out the assignment, The PKF hotelexperts hotel was taken to explain the whole
assignment. The PKF hotelexperts is one of the market leaders in the field of hospitality, tourism
sector. This is one of the largest tax and consulting firm in all over the world (Chathoth, and

hospitality is measured by the service which they are provided to their relevant customer. Some
of the facility such as Wi-Fi, swimming pool and many more through which the customer will
attract more. PKF hotel expert is one of the pioneers in hotel consulting. With the help of
different culture and value, the organization can retain their employee (Chathoth, and Olsen
2017).

With the help of integration, the work will be shared with their customer and resources. With the
help of two integration, the Hospitality industry maintains the resources of the integration. The
two main integration resource is Horizontal and vertical integration (Alonso and O'Neill 2011).
This is basically implemented to satisfy customer need and wants. They mainly focus on their
common goal. For proper coordination, they make use the different techniques and latest
techniques in their business. In this, the employees are trained and this is also a long time process
in the organization. To maintain the business coordination the business will reduce the cost of
the product and also operational management in integration (Alonso and O'Neill 2011).
There are 4 types of integration that are Vertical Integration & Horizontal Integration, Forward
integration, and backward integration. In the organization, only two of integration is followed
that is Vertical Integration & Horizontal Integration.

Vertical Integration – In vertical integration the organizations purchase its supplier or purchase
the different company in the distribution chain. With the help of this, the cost is low and the
profit will increase. This implements mainly within the organization as compared to others.
With the help of vertical integration the Marriott International mix their agreement with the
different organization which is basically come under distribution chain (Alonso and O'Neill
2011). Due to vertical integration, the cost of the activities is decrease that is performed by The
Marriott International. If in the organization the implementation of the vertical integration is
done then the profitability and the market share of the company will be increased rapidly
(Alonso and O'Neill 2011).
Advantages: With the help of vertical integration the Marriot Hotel decrease their cost of
production to increase efficiency. They also provide many different facilities to attract their
target audience.
Disadvantages: vertical integration is more costly as compared to anything. They will also
reduce the comfortability of the Marriott hotel.
Horizontal Integration – in this the two companies is completely different from others. They do
their work together to build a huge organization (Alonso and O'Neill 2011). These will be made
for the mutual benefit that is called horizontal integration. The two different sectors are involved
in horizontal integration. The Marriott hotel tries to make something huge for a mutual profit
with the help of the casino industry (Alonso and O'Neill 2011). The number of customers will
increase with horizontal integration who will work for a big level of the company. The revenue
of the business organization will increase.
Advantages: The higher efficiency of the Marriott hotel will increase with the help of
horizontal integration as compared to vertical integration. On the other hand, lots of scopes were
there in horizontal integration.
Disadvantages:
The main disadvantage of horizontal integration is that thy lead to a monopoly in their business.
Due to high risk, the company may not achieve its target.

ISSUES WITH INTEGRATION
Some of the different issues which the companies have to face with the integration:
Mismanagement: In the organization, if the vertical integration or the horizontal integration is
implemented then the top manager of the company has the main responsibility to manage their
work with their employees (Aynalem et al.,2016). It is a very difficult task to manage work and
employee together in the organization. The manager of the company failed to mismanage there
work which will big disadvantages to the company.
Security- During the integration, the Marriott hotel uses different techniques to safe there data
from different issues. While in Vertical integration or Horizontal integration the possibility of
risk is more because some time the sensitive data related to the organization are leaked by
someone to make their business down (Aynalem et al.,2016).
Social Issues- This is analyzed that the casino business brings a negative thought to the customer
around them which will make a negative impact on the business. The societies have that much
power to understand the right and knowledge which will make an effective business.
Employee Resistance – Most of the employee has a habit of working with the business
environment. The Marriott hotel employee wants to work with the new techniques which are
used in their organization (Aynalem et al.,2016). Some of the employees don’t want to bring a
new culture or any trend in their organization because they face many problems while doing
some work which will decrease the growth of the business.
IMPLICATIONS OF INTEGRATION
Staff Retention- the Marriott hotel has to mainly focus on the human resources of the
management which are there for a long period of time while at the time of integration. Due to the
old staff, the retain is made less (Aynalem et al.,2016). This is said that if the staff is old then
they know each and everything in the organization related to their work. If the staff of the
organization is old then it is very useful for the future. The skilled staff will have that much of
efficiency and effective working skill to do the work in a proper manner in the organization
(Aynalem et al.,2016).
