1ANALYSIS OF JOB DESCRIPTION
Part one
The post of the Job is in the hospitality industry and it is with respect to this, that the
overall requirements of the given job have been given down in a comprehensive manner. The job
description is laid down very well and the key highlights of the description have been given in
the beginning of the description which makes it considerably easy for the different candidates to
understand the job requirement and apply for the same.
The most critical strength of the job requirement can be understood to be the fact that, it
has mentioned the main requisites of the job in the beginning itself and in line with this, it
becomes crucial for the candidate to analyze the requirement in the beginning itself and followed
by this, they can proceed with the rest of the description if their requirements fulfill the job
requirements as well. However, an aspect of the job which surprised me is that it is a night duty
job and that is the reason that the job will be paying considerably well.
The skills which have been mentioned in the job requirement can be understood to be
adequate in nature but are reasonably diverse in nature. This means that, a person needs to
possess a large number of skills in order to ensure that they are able to achieve all the goals of
the firm. The only drawback of the job is that, it the job roles can be understood to be
considerably high and the pay is comparatively low. Hence, this is the only requirement of the
job that I do not agree with.
Hence, in order to improve the job description I would like to recommend that, the
human resource manager should not have mentioned all the skills as present and in line of this,
they should have made the job requirement considerably practical in nature. The job description

is not legally defensible as the requirements are considerably high in number and with respect to
this, there are certain requirements that are not essentially bonafied occupational requirements.
The work culture of the hotel, Fillmore’s in Toronto can be understood to be considerably
worked up in nature and in regard to this, it needs to be noted that, employee motivation can be
understood to be missing in this case and the work environment is pressurized.
Therefore, I believe that although the job role and requirement is considerably
demanding, I believe that I possess all the adequate skills which would enable me to perform
well in this job role and be able to grow in terms of the organizational hierarchy. Hence, I am
willing to take up this job, and thereby prove my capability.
