Introduction
Aiming to understand the work environment, culture and practice related to Regent Park
Resort, this reflective journal will account for the various organizational practices. The following
paragraphs will endeavor to include the personal perspective and reflection upon the practices
and culture at the workplace.
Discussion
The phrase work environment and work culture refers to the innumerable practices,
values and shared endeavors that proves to be conducive for the health of the workplace (Leroy,
Anseel, Gardner & Sels, 2015, p. 1678). Recent studies also reveal that the corporate culture
refers to the embedded mechanisms and processes (Harvard Business Review, 2009, p. 2). A
closer look at the work environment of Regent Park Resort will reveal that the organization
focuses on the maintenance of safe and healthy working environment for the employees and the
guests (Asia et al., 2019). The organization also focuses on the work environment that
emphasizes on the workplace achievements. Taking into consideration the theoretical
perspective, it can be mentioned that the organization strives to maintain the work standards.
Studies reveal that an unsafe work environment and culture dissuades the employees from
working in a proper and efficient manner (Draft & Samson, 2014, p. 495). Further, it is also seen
that the perpetration of negative work culture can hamper the development of the organizations
(Leinwand & Davidson, 2016, p. 3). In the case of Starbucks, it is seen that the change in the
culture had led to the development of the organization. Regent Park Resort uses Facebook as a
medium for advertising. The organization employs the historical story of the Hindu-Muslim riots
that broke out in the past. This story forms the backbone of the goal of Regent Park Resort as it

strives to collate history with the modern facets of tourist attraction (Regent Park Resort, 2019).
It also thrives on the slogan of ‘living with Nature’. The hero of this organization is the manager
who tends to support and address the needs of each employee (Dummies, 2019). The manager
also discharges the role of imparting and communicating about the various changes and
strategies throughout the organization. Lastly, festivals also form an integral role in furthering
the culture. Hence festivals such as Eid-ul-Fitr is also observed.
Reflecting upon the work culture of Regent Park Resort, I can mention that the
organization harbors the visible work environment of the provision of healthy environment. As
an Assistant General Manager, I had contributed to the work culture by following and
implementing the policies that can guarantee the maintenance of the work environment. I had
successfully discharged the responsibilities of maintaining the quality of the environment,
developing staffing plans, addressing operational and technical issues. I can reflect that my
position and endeavors as an Assistant General Manager had enabled me to get attached to the
environment. In order to realize the strategic and operational goals, I had even contributed to
enhance and further the positive working relationships with the various divisions to maintain
uniformity amongst the departments. It can be said that the organization’s culture of the
maintenance of safe and healthy working environment is reflected in my personal ideals and
endeavors.
Conclusion
It can be concluded the factor of the maintenance of working environment is observed in
Regent Park Resort. It can also be concluded that I had contributed to the goals of the
organization.
