Introduction
I had the responsibility to write an assignment to assess the present skills related to the
academics and employability required in the job market of today and provides the assessment of
what should be known by me to develop the skills and features required to complete the tasks
assigned to me. Assessing myself individually, I could frame the SWOT Analysis to acquire the
knowledge to develop the plan for personally developing myself in working for the betterment of
the hotel industry. The PDP will provide a clear idea about the present situation faced by me to
enhance the skills within me to develop the acumen to deliver the professional and quality
performance within the organisation.
I am 32 years old and work as a delivery manager for the Company Uber Eats within the
city of London where I am residing for the past two years. I am looking for opportunities in the
service industry especially in the hotels to work for the betterment and serve numerous
customers receiving services from the customers. I can develop the studies and expand the
manufacturing and operational bases of the industry I will be working in to enhance the quality
of services provided by the Company. I have learnt many useful and beneficial things associated
to the service provided by me in my past work in the capacity of the role of a manager being
allotted to me.
According to Morgeson et al., (2019), skills of employability can be termed and defined
as the fundamental skills and features that can be used to secure the workplace duties and
responsibilities by integrating the laws and legislations of the workplace. Employability skills
can be of different types that need to be inculcated by me to be selected within the hotel industry

and work. The different fundamental categories associated with the skills of employability are as
follows:
1. The fundamental skills related to academics and education is the ability to read, write and
develop sound knowledge about the numeric skills.
2. The thinking skills that are of higher quality such as developing creativity, solving the
problem issues and able to set up decision-making strategies and policies are involved
3. The qualities that reflect the personality of the individuals are also exposed within the market
such as being honest, and possess the basic self-confidence to execute the activities and
operational procedures.
According to Bowie et al., (2016), the Companies especially belonging to the hotel
industry tends to give importance upon the buying behaviour and the choice patterns of the
customers that have an impact upon the business and manufacturing operations of the hotel
industry. I need to develop the skills that would help in satisfying the urge of the customers and
provide them the support to choose the products or services they want. The soft skills such as the
different forms of attitude and the categories of work ethics has to be acquired by the
professionals like me who have a desire to work for the hotel industry in developing the business
forms and categories.
According to Mitra (2016), the management who recruit such employees focus upon the
necessary skill traits that influence the business operations of the hotel industry and provide steps
to improve them fully. The soft skills as well as the skills related to academics have a different
role to play in helping employees like us to perform better within the organisations. There are
different processes by which the minute details of the job and the tasks can be fulfilled. The tasks

related to gathering notes and searching the facts provides the aid in motivating the workforce to
execute the work smoothly. Candidates like me who apply to work within the hotel industry have
to adhere to the norms and policies and have a crucial role to play within the organisation sphere.
I have to grow the necessary communication and leadership skills to be selected within the
organisation.
The perfect process by which I can bring about improvements in the learning process is
by assessing the present situation I encounter.

1. Management skills- I tend to possess sound skills of management that has helped me to
execute the operational activities in a proper manner within the organisation or the hotel
industry. I have the ability to manage the employees and the workforce in a much better manner
by adhering to the specific strategies and policies.
2. Thinking in a critical way- I am always able to evaluate the different decisions or activities
occurring within the industry. I would be able to develop the actions and tasks by sticking to the
processes.
3. Able to work for many hours- I have the capacity to work for extra time and I can work
according to the demands of my work.
4. Examining the details and facts- I am a quality individual who gets involved in the research
activities in a proper and efficient manner by adhering to the laws and legislations of the
workplace.
5. Skills of organising- The skills related to organising the employees or groups to work for the
betterment of the organisation or the industry under which the organisation falls is very much
necessary to be done.

1. Presentation skills- I developed the necessary skills required in arranging the presentations to
demonstrate about the activities and tasks.

2. Negotiation skills- I also had the skills within me to negotiate with other organisations or
stakeholders about the sharing of some services or providing stable services.
3. Communication skills- The skills of communication also needs to be developed and I have
the necessary training and experience to deliver it properly.
4. Technological skills- I tend to understand the role played by technology in developing and
providing the services to the consumers.

SWOT
According to Grant (2016), SWOT Analysis is an important technique or tool that is
utilised to demonstrate the internal factors that have an effect upon the business and
manufacturing operations and activities of the hotel industry. I performed an analysis with the
help of adopting the SWOT method to identify the strong and weak points, chances and the
threats that lie in the path of execution of the operations of the organisation.

- I can communicate properly within the execution of the variety of activities and services.
- I tend to possess high quality skills in managing the operations and workforce.
- I have very good technological skills that help me to provide customer services

Personal Development Plan
According to Argyris (2017), a personal development plan is a basic aid to the
individuals or employees who can inculcate better learning strategies to execute the different
functions going on within the organisations. The PDP provides the steps, measures to evaluate
the external surroundings and plan for devising the operational activities, and services that allows
for the development of the individual both professionally and personally. PDP has to be framed
in a systematic manner by adhering to the specific process and strategies that has to be followed
within the organisations. PDP is a technique that tends to provide steps and measures to assess
the features of personality going on within the organisation to be able to perform well for the
hotel industry.
I can achieve success and profitability by following the various traits and integrating the
features within me to develop the PDP and make improvements within it to develop myself
properly by adhering to the specific steps and measures. The quality of performance is enhanced
by following the steps and plans framed within the PDP developed within the organisational
circuit. PDP needs to be integrated in the modern world where competition is tremendous and the
activities have to be done perfectly. I also developed the PDP that provides the basic steps to
improve upon the activities that I would perform.
