INTRODUCTION
Group development is a process of developing team member's of different member's at
one point of time. This involves developing group based competencies or skills which are highly
predominant to enhance productivity or efficiency of any project work in given point of time.
This involves competencies or abilities of an each and every person, who are highly responsible
to led project in an effective or productive stages of working to accomplish goals or targets in an
effective manner (Marshak, 2015). This project will put its focus on understanding of PPDI
stands for personal and professional development to enhance skills and competencies of an
individual to enhance longer term relationship in given period of time. Hence, this report will be
cover on hotel management and work based learning. The major purpose of this report is to
create or continue any defined project in greater period of time to increase accomplishment of
goals or targets in context of hotel management and work based learning. In response, this report
will also be carry on major discussion over this project, define and discussion over Tuckman
stages of group development in order to accomplish project in given point of time. Along with
this, this report will also consists of project phases which is made up of five different stage of
working.
1) Background of this report
This PPDI module is based on project management simulation, which is an effective
project based on development of hotel management and work based learning. This report will
reveals some skills or competencies which has identified as necessary to led development for
some of these skill and also taking some relevant action planning in order to generate suitable
goals or targets in given point of time (Bushe, 2016). The major purpose of these report is to
conduct simulation which is based on PPDI, in which skills and competencies are also needs to

based learning and ability to led development of an individual to enhance learning to overcome
any critical issues in context of skills based development for longer period of time.
2) Demonstrate trans-disciplinary models / theories to underpin your analysis
a) Describe/ Define Trans-disciplinary approach
An approach to curriculum integration which is required to dissolves boundaries among
conventional disciplines and organises teaching and learning around construction of meaning in a
context of real world or themes. It is proven to be most effective method of treating learning
activities (Mintzberg, 2011). This approach connotes a research strategy that in reality crosses
many disciplinary boundaries to create a holistic approach. In general, this approach is applies to
research efforts which is focused on problems that cross boundaries of two or more disciplines.
This research involves effective information system for biomedical approach. This approach has
been recognised as profitable way to meet challenges of modernity. The major advantage of this
long term approach is to led in providing comprehensive perspective of a life which has a
support of problematical questions, which is heuristic and search, the research and also insight of
different level of knowledge and information, which has a link between abstract and concrete
dimension of experiences.
b) Describe/ Define Tuckmans stages of group development
This model is reality explains that as a team develops a maturity and ability, relationship
establish and leader changes an effective leadership style. Beginning with learning style, moving
through coaching, participating, finishing, delegating and almost detached. At this point of
project working, team may produce a successor leader and that previous leader may be moved up
to develop a new team. This progression of team behaviour and leadership style can be seen
clearly in the continuum (Woodman, 2015). An authority and freedom generally extended by a
leader to a team to led increment while a leader to control reduces over the period of time. This
theory is reality comprises of four different stages for group development, which is comprises of
forming, storming, norming and performing. For effective conduction of project based on project
based simulator, this is highly prominent to use these stages in context of group development in
order to complete these project in given period of time. In this workshop based project, this is a
highly prominent to use these given stages in order to ascertain desired outcomes out of this
gained to enhance work based goals or targets. Also, purpose of this report is to enhance work
based learning and ability to led development of an individual to enhance learning to overcome
any critical issues in context of skills based development for longer period of time.

workshop based projects. This workshop based project will be conduct on a basis of team
working in which there are different roles and responsibilities which needs to be overcome in
order to generate outcomes out of this project in a given point of time (Bartunek, 2016). The
stages of Tuckman's model of group development are as explained as follows:
Forming: For this project work, higher dependence on leader for guidance and direction.
Little agreement on team aims or objectives other that what is received from a leader's.
Individual roles or targets are basically unclear during a process of making of the defined PPDI.
While working in team groups, role was of project manager, which is one manages things at one
point of time to led effective working of team groups in given point of time. During these, I need
to prepare for questions of this, which a group member may ask from me in context of these
simulation based project in given point of time. In this, test of tolerance of member' is used to be
undertaken to enhance suitable results out of this projects.
Storming: Decisions don't come easily within a team. In this team based projects, team
member's fight or struggle hard for their position into this team project to led effective carry on
and carry out of this project in given period of time. In this team needs to be done to achieve
their defined goals or targets in given point of time.
Norming: In this project, team leader has not been appointed, but project manager is their
who is qualified enough top take care of project in an effective or co-related manner to led an
effective completion of this project in given point of time Moreover, team group is highly
capable to handle different and also tough situation in context of solving critical and difficult
issues to gain productive response of these team working to accomplish given targets in defined
period of time.
Performing: In this PPDI module, group is under capability to perform well their activity
or work based to develop results or outcomes in an effective or related manner to enhance tasks
based results in given point of time. In this response, we have not elected any team leader, but
still team has performed its best of capabilities to enhance productive goals or outcomes in a
defined or accumulate manner. During this module, each and every team member;s is centric
towards accomplishment of their defined duties and responsibilities to context of given goals and
targets.
Adjourning: This is a last stage of group development which denotes about the perfection
on this entire project, which says that this project have accomplished its defined task or goals
working in which there are different roles and responsibilities which needs to be overcome in

within its defined time or duration to enhance its goals or targets in given point of time. This
stage has been regarded as break stage for every group, in which project is completed and also its
defined goals or targets are achieved in given period of time. In context with this project, it is
highly recommendable to do pursue this project with clear measures to enhances its outcomes in
given point of time.
Brief summary: This process of tuck-man is highly focused on development of a team,
whose purpose is to do any project with a measurement to build effective results goals or aims in
given point of time.
3 The assessment of project phases and evaluate their effectiveness
The project can be described as a planned set of interrelated tasks or activities with
specific deadline to be completed by fulfilling established goals appropriately. It consist the
preparation of overall plan with scheduling desired number of procedures or activities which are
required to be carrying out in correct order for achieving set objectives along with attaining
better outcomes respectively. However, it is essential to focus on preparation of project because
it can be considered as base of overall project which facilitate to boost up outputs of the whole
program.
Preparation of phase of Project – Initially, preparation of the project refers the activity
of initiation and planning according to which every step will be taken by workers for making
overall project effective. However, project initiation consists the criteria of measuring feasibility
as well as value for which generally business case document and feasibility study in order to
conduct evaluation for pursuing specific project (Wooten, 2013). It involves that these tolls can
be used in Project Management Simulation in respect of improving skills and abilities of
employees which impacts positively on results of particular assignment. Moreover, it also
involves the criteria of conducting project planning in order to complete the same in specific
period of timer with set budget in proper way. In addition to this, it includes guidance to several
actions such as collecting resources, arrangement of funds and procuring required materials.
Meanwhile, it is helpful for project team in terms of gaining accurate direction for performing
their tasks in respect of producing quality outputs, handling risks, creating acceptance,
communicating benefits to stakeholders and managing suppliers. It is essential to est up plan of
action for conduct learning programs for enhancing skills and abilities of workers respectively.

action for conduct learning programs for enhancing skills and abilities of workers respectively.

Implementation phase of project – At the other hand, implementation of phase of
project consist execution, monitoring an control in which establish plan of action will be applied
through controlling activities. However, the Cesium's simulations can be used because it is
helpful to provide risk free and cost effective environment which facilitate to gain better results
of project. It consist the criteria of building deliverables which are appropriate for satisfying
customer in proper way (Illback, 2014). Meanwhile, this can be considered as a role of team
leader to allocate resources and keeping team members concentrated on their assigned tasks. In
addition to this, it is necessary to make an appropriate plan of action to organise programs for
improving knowledge and capabilities of workers for increase project outcomes respectively.
Moreover, the aspects of monitoring is very important in order to make sure that every activity
has been proceed in correct direction and reducing immediate generated issues for achieving set
goals successfully. Furthermore, project controlling is also essential for reducing chances of
occurring problems in respect of maintain effectiveness of specific assignment. In context of
organising learning session for workers, it is important to monitor and control this project to
achieve desired outcomes in future.
Effectiveness – Project preparation in effective as it is supportive to measure value of
specific assignment and plan of action provide correct direction to team members for completing
their tasks properly. Meanwhile, plan is effective phase as it includes scope, definition, number
of tasks, schedule, cost, quality, organisation, staff, communication risk and procurement in
order to complete project of learning to increase abilities of people (Church and et. al., 2014).
However, implementation of project consists execution, monitoring and controlling which is
effective because it is helpful to avoid risks and problem of project that facilitate to achieve
better outcomes.
4. The skills to develop and solve work based problems.
It is very much essential to develop proper skills for solving the problems of the project
in the best possible manner. This is because if these skills are not developed than project will not

Communication skills- This skill has helped me in communicating vital information
related to the project in the appropriate and sequential manner. This is because each and every
information was transferred in the proper manner. Chances of miscommunication and
duplication of work was also reduced (Murphy and et. al., 2012). It has also helped me in
maintaining and improving better relationship with subordinates and superior of the Workshop
project team. I was also able to achieve my individual goals by improving and enhancing the
communication skills. This was also improved by continuously being in touch with other team
members on Whatsapp group.
Management Skills- This skills has helped me in managing every activities and
operations of the project in appropriate manner. At the initial stage of the project I was not able
to manage various things at a time but after continuous planning and organising my management
skill was improved in the best possible manner.
Decision making skill- After the completion of the project tenure I was able to make best
decisions for the future course of action. I was able to solve the problems in the appropriate
manner. As this was done after deeply analysing every aspect of the problem. In the first few
weeks the level of confusion was very high as things were not organised in the proper order. But
after sometime I understood what is to be done and how it is to be done. Clear and precise
guidelines were given by me. As the major motive and task of the workshop project was decided
in the systematic manner. If proper decision making skills were not improved than resources of
the project would not have been used in the optimum manner. The chances of improper
functioning of the activities was only possible by using the communication, management and
decision making skills properly.
6. Analyse and evaluate the action taken
The action taken for improving desired skills and abilities is required to be analysed in
order to determine appropriateness of specific programs of enhancing skills and abilities of
employees (Kidd, 2013). It involves that number of skills are required for working in team in
respect of improving capabilities and efficiencies of people in order to gain better outcome of the
whole project. In addition to this, communication skills, management skills and decision making
which are required to be improved between team members in order to cooperate each other for
completing specific project appropriately. Meanwhile, these capabilities are very important while
working in team for organising skill enhancement programs for executing the plan in proper
related to the project in the appropriate and sequential manner. This is because each and every
information was transferred in the proper manner. Chances of miscommunication and

which are required to be improved between team members in order to cooperate each other for
completing specific project appropriately. Meanwhile, these capabilities are very important while
working in team for organising skill enhancement programs for executing the plan in proper

way. However, it is necessary for improving decision making about particular aspect as it will
decide effectiveness of overall assignment accordingly.
The communication skills is essential to communicate important information within team
members in order to conduct every tasks in correct sequence for attaining desired outcomes. I
belied that communication skill scan be improved with the help of remain in touch with
colleagues on WhatsApp which facilitate to increase their communication ability of team
members (Wolf, 2011). However, it is necessary to develop active listening and sharing desired
information to other team members which is helpful to establish more effective as well as
efficient coordination which is supportive to complete set goals in accurate way. It is required to
use simple language ad words which facilitate to create proper understanding between employees
and that impacts positively on assignment of attaining personal & professional development.
The management is an important aspects for conducting management of time at the time
of conduct every single tasks of particular projects within set duration in order to complete
overall assignment ion time. However, it is necessary to manage resources to complete the
project by improve effectiveness of outcomes respectively. I have analysed that management of
work can be improved by guidance of superiors and determining issues in previously managed
project for improving threats for developing ability of proper management to complete each
assignment in accurate manner within desired time.
The decision making skills plays an important role while conducting project of personal
and professional development of workers by increasing their efficiencies. However, it requires to
make accurate decision for selecting techniques or methods for carrying out tasks of assignment
in an appropriate manner. In addition to this, it is significant to develop skills of correct decision
making because completion of set goals depends upon the same. I have analysed that learning to
make decision is important by gathering proper information about specific situation, avoid
emotionally charged decision and take desired time to make correct decision.
7 Learning from the project
The project has helped me a lot in improving and learning various skills and knowledge
related to the project activities. My coordinating and managing skills was improved as every task
related to the project was properly managed and carried out. Managing the project has proved a
best tool for developing new skills (Liu, 2016) With the help of this project now I will be able to
manage my work life in the best possible manner. This is because now will be able to complete
decide effectiveness of overall assignment accordingly.
The communication skills is essential to communicate important information within team

the task assigned to me in the future without wasting the resources and time in the duration of the
project. After the completion of this project I was able to know by strength and weakness and
appropriate measures will also known to convert the weakness into strength.
This project workshop has helped me in understanding various things related to the
financial resources of the project. As strategies related to budget of the project was made after
analysing various activities in the best possible manner. It was very necessary for me to decide
the budget of the project involving the least cost. This is because if the project involved high
budget than it would not have been considered as a feasible project workshop. Setting the low
cost budget directly helped me in improving my analytical and coordination skills in adequate
manner. Using appropriate financial plans had also increased the chances of competing with the
competitor's in the best possible manner. This is because various financial tools and techniques
were used by me in the systematic and coordinated manner.
My communication skill and management skill was improved as with the help of this I
was able to communicate the goals and objectives of the project in the appropriate manner. I was
able to give better suggestion to my subordinates because things related to the working of the
project was clear. I knew how to handle the subordinates and what measures and can be taken to
extract the work for the group members. Various communication methods were used by me to
transfer vital information to the team members. During the tenure of the project there was a
conflict which raised because of improper communication. The team members were not knowing
what is to be done to complete the assigned task. So I analysed the problem and communicate the
goals to the group members which are to be achieved and also provide them measures to solve
and complete the task. After enhancing the communication skill and decision making skill my
satisfaction level and experience was increased in the best possible manner.
My role in this project was of project manager so it was expected to coordinated the work
and team members of the project team. To manage the project I divided the task equally to every
member so that work is done in the best possible manner. My duty was also to ensure the that
duplication of work is avoided and better use of resources is being done. After dividing the work
equally the chances of conflict and misunderstanding was reduced. This is because every
member was knowing what is to be done and how it is to be done. Conflicts and issues in the
internal management of project group was easily overcome because of my proper coordinating
and managing skill. Due to this the individual goals of the group members were easily achievable
Setting the low

and the satisfaction level of the members also increased. Overall activities were managed and
better guidance were given to the subordinates .
This project has also helped me and my team members in improving the set of skills.
Now will be able to handle the future problems related to the project in the effective manner. I
my problem solving and decision making skill has been improved in the systematic manner. If
any same type of problematic situations arise in future than will be able to solve it by making
better plans and strategies. The chances of risk and uncertainties will be decreased because plans
will be made after analysing various things. The issues and conflicts among the group members
in the future will not be there because members know how they are supposed to perform. If any
similar problem arises in future than group members will not require more guidance because
activities and task will be based on same project. The resources will also not be wasted as better
plans and course of action will be prepared by the head of the project .
Simulation project allowed and guided me in understanding every detail and task of the
project. As critical analysis of the project activities was done and plans were made according to
the motive and target of the project. The my work base learning was also improved as the
activities and work was clear. This means every thing related to the project activities was decided
by me after knowing the pros and cons of the project. This is because if it is not known than
formation of the future plans and strategies would be a difficult task for the whole team. Every
task was easily achievable because the team members were dedicated towards their work. This is
because appropriate guidance and motivation were given to them by me. If this was not given
than the project would fail in the market and the resources used in the project would be wasted.
