INTRODUCTION
A business enterprise is defined as the organisation in which employees work together for
achieving the goals and objectives of the company. There are basically two types of enterprises
small scale and large scale enterprises. The small scale enterprise is one which has limited
number of employees and also limited flow of finances and materials. The following report is
based on the business plan of two friends starting a new small bed and breakfast hotel in
England. This report will include the different factors that affects the business performance and
success in England. This report will help to analyse financial and marketing ways by which this
hotel can be successful in market. A business plan is described in this report and at last
recommendations are made for changes in business and improving the personnel.
TASK 1
Produce a profile of the selected small business identifying its strengths and weaknesses
A small business is started by entrepreneurs to earn profit and make money. It is
important for them to estimate different factors about the enterprise. The essential aspects for the
new hotel started in England naming ABCD hotel -
Size – The size of this enterprise is small as this is a small cafe cum hotel that will serve
breakfast to employees (Bridge and O'Neill, 2012). The number of staff in this hotel is very
small as there will be only 20 staff people including two managers and one vice manager.
Type – This new ABCD hotel will be a small organisation in the hospitality sector that
will provide quality and hygienic food to people in England. This is a small hotel situated near
xyz area.
Structure – The organisational structure is required by the company to have effective
flow of communication and performing the functions and business activities in an effective
manner. This hotel will have a general manager who will look after all the activities of business
and other staff which will work under him including one supervisor, a manager, a cook and other
helpers and waiters. This hotel will follow a hierarchical organisational structure.
Mission and Vision – the mission of this hotel is to provide effective services and quality
product to customers and make them satisfied. The vision of this company is to become an
example for small hotel business by performing better every year.

Goals and objectives – The major objective of ABCD organisation is to give quality food
and services to people and provide them good ambience and environment while eating food.
Other goals include providing them hygiene and clean environment at hotel premises.
Strength and weakness of starting ABCD hotel
Strengths
This will help in creating new hotel business and increasing the profits of the
entrepreneurs.
Services and food offered to people will help in making both the hotel and chef popular.
This will help in providing employment to more number of people.
This will be a good place which offers food for both lower class and middle class people.

There is no good management and administration as entrepreneurs are new to hotel

According to researches it is concluded that the small enterprises present in United
Kingdom can earn a lot and make profit in less time. On the other hand, the larger enterprises
have more employees and make more profits than small enterprise but market value is important
for such kind of enterprise (Schaper and et. al., 2014). When median of small enterprises was
compared it came around 8,000 British pounds in the year 2017 and it increased to 9,000 British
dollars in the year 2018. It has been concluded from this data that small enterprises help in
employment to people and supports in earning profits for the company. The following statistics

hotel is also facing fund issues and this is a big obstacle for the company for smooth operation of
the organisation. It is important for ABCD organisation for increasing performance of the
company. These ways are listed below-
The ABCD hotel company must estimate the market area for avoiding any problem while
operating the hotel. It is important for company to analyse the actions and plans of
competitors for making more better operations that will attract more customer base.
