INTRODUCTION
Business skills define ability and the capacity of the business man. This report is the research
of the business function and also based on the different responsibilities of the hotels
industry and the outline of the business is too aware about the safety, health, and risk
management and about the Pros and Cons of the hotels. There is the description of the
legislative risk that the manager and the employees should consider in the hotel industries.
The legislation policies are taken place for the welfare of the industries and their
organization structure. The legislation risk covers various areas of the hotel industry like as
data protection, health and safety, risk management, licensing and there are the many
points comes under the Hotel Proprietors Act 1956 and this act defines the liability of the
proprietor in the certain circumstances to make good for any loss or the damage to a guest’s
property. This is the act where the proprietor and the staff members are responsible for the
damage property of the guests (Aslanertik, 2017).

IMPORTANCE OF THE HOTEL INDUSTRY IN THE DIFFERENT FIELDS
In this modern era the hotel industries are boosting quickly in the markets. There are
various things which take place around the hotel industry for their safety measures. There
are the different functions for these industries and these functions are mention below:-
PROBLEM SOLVING:-The proprietor of the hotel always tries to solve the problems
of the guest. Whenever the guest faces the problems from the services or their other
facilities like as the food, health and safety, etc. This is the process where the guest
can do the complaints against their problems and takes the resolution of it
immediately. Health and food safety are major issue in the hotel.
DECISION MAKING:-Decision making policy is very important in any fields for
achieving the goals; coordinate with their team members etc. Decisions are always
done with the help of their subordinates by helding the meetings, so the guest does
not face the problems in the hotels. The process of the decision making is very
necessary and it helps in the future to the staff members.
PDP:-PDP is also known as the Professional Development Program, which has taken
by the trainer, manager, and the top level management for growing the skills of the
staff members in the fields of the hotel industry. These kinds of the programs and
the session are very important for developing the skills towards the guest and about
the services. These programs are playing the very crucial role for the organization
(Griffin, 2019).
SWOT ANALYSIS:-The observation of the strength, weakness, opportunity and
threats of the industry. The analysis of the strengths of the organization is very
necessary and the weakness because once the weakness is analyse then it can easily
convert into the strength. This is very important to know about the threats so the
proprietors can take the initiative steps for coming out from that threats (Harvey,
2018).

HOTEL PROPERIETORS ACT, 1956
Under the hotel proprietors Act 1956, hotel proprietor may in certain circumstances be
liable to make good pay any loss of or damage to a guest’s property even though it was not
due to any fault of the proprietor or staff of the hotel (Berends, 2018). There is various
legislation policies comes under this act and these policies are mention below:-

INNS AND INNKEEPERS: - The hotel works under the legislation policies of this act
which is known as the Inns and Innkeepers and the Inns is refers to the liabilities and
the duties of the hotel industry not any other establishment. The proprietor of the
hotel like as an innkeeper, who works under the legislation policy to make the guest
happy (Bandi, 2017).
DAMAGE TO GUEST’S PROPERTY:-Under the proprietors act 1956, the proprietor of
the hotels take care the property of their guest and never makes them disappoint
from their services, sometime the proprietor of the hotel also pay to their guest for
their loss of the property, these liability are mention below:-

the inquiry of the police. The license and the registration are required for opening the
business, hotels, hospital etc. It is very important for the proprietor, so they are not in the
tight corners (Hartman, 2017).

There are various uncertainties takes place is known as the risk factors, which covers the risk
management in the industry, these are mention below:-
FIRE SAFETY:-In the hotel industry, the tourist or the guest wants their safety from the
dangerous things, which can occur at any time so the first priority of the hotel industry to
provides the proper safety to the guest. There should be the fire extinguisher which works
properly at the time of the fire burns in the hotels. This is main cause of the death in the
hotels.
LUGGAGE SAFETY:-The safety of the luggage is very important so the guest can stay freely in
the hotels because sometimes the things can be stolen by the staff members, sweeper, by
other person etc. because once the reputation of the hotels becomes bad then it takes time
to covers that good will in the markets.
STAFF SAFETY:-The safety of their staff members are very necessary in the fields of the
health, savings, medical fitness so the many hotel industries provides the facilities of the ESI
which includes the family members also, Provident Fund (PF) for the future or it is type of
savings.
