This essay discuss on the topic of Housing and Homelessness in Australia. The topic
shows why we should care about housing affordability for poor people and for country
development. Evaluating polices and practice that is run by government in terms of inadequate
housing homelessness for those who are unable to afford house for living and maintain their
lifestyle. Methods to improve access to housing for vulnerable individual or group or specific
community.
MAIN BODY
There are numerous of people who are unable to maintain their lifestyle in country due to
lack of income and other reasons. They are unable to get the meal for one time in a day, while for
those people it is almost impossible to live in house (Clarke, Watts and Parsell, 2020). There are
many people who are unable to live in house in country like Australia. The expenses and income
are quite opposite to each other for lower class people. The flaw in country looks very ruthless
from outside that government had not taken any steps for these types of people. This need to take
as a priority by government. In fact, middle class people are also unable to purchase house due to
increasing in price of house in country. It is the major problem that are rising day by day, people
need to spend more and more paying to purchase house. Australians are unable to find good
access of house within a budget and jobs income are also poor in country after unbalanced
economy condition. Pattern of house ownership are enhancing the inequality between
generations and for some community people that charged high prices from them. The policies for
hosing should be created in a manner with equality and market prices are charged by owner or up
to a certain limit they can be charged.
Australian prices for rent and purchase are almost double in major cities like Melbourne
and Sydney. The development of country brings high income for people working and financial
values will become cheaper, but there are also middle and lower class people which suffered
major of times. These people are charged with high price of charges and loans facilities are also
low with high interest rate in market (Heerde and et.al. 2020). After the pandemic hit in all
country, economy condition for every country is almost unbalanced. Australia is also affected
due to Covid-19 and leads to high unemployment rate in country, prices for food and water are
increasing and homeless people affected most with pandemic. The interest rates of banks and
institutions are quite high on principle amount. It sometimes unable to pay by person due to low
income. Reserve bank of Australia articles shows that house owner are further ahead to their
mortgage loan compare to 2006, major of them are facing stress to pay the utility bills. Middle
class people are also unable to pay their rents in large cities. They are spending 30% of their
income on rents and prepaid taxes. The interest rate of mortgage loans are increase in country
which are unable to pay by middle and lower class income people.

The government need to run various programs which help them to get home to every
single person of country who are unable to get house on their own. The poverty people are
affected majorly in country who are unable to get a shelter in country. Low cost housing supply
in country had shrunk significantly (Spinney and et.al. 2020). The solution of homeless people to
provide with shelter is through Homeless Assistance program by government that provide shelter
to those who are unable to get on their own. This programs model include:
Permanent supporting house: This program help to pair long term rental assistance with many
supportive services. Government is providing to families and individual with chronic illness,
healthy issues, disabilities that help to take self-care and major of services are providing by
government. It help lower and middle class people who are unable to rental house or own house.
They are provided with shelter and services through this programs.
Rapid re-housing: this program is short term rental assistance to people and help to get quick
house for people. It assist individual and family to become self- sufficiency and remain housed.
Public Housing: This program help low income people that cannot afford house on rent or
purchase, elder people and disable person who are unable to earn high income (Pawson and et.al.
2021). The government is providing with subsidies and other services to help them and give a
quality life.
However, government are working on various programs to provide with shelter and
reduce the homeless people in country. Australian government also focusing on equality in
communities living in country and provide with all necessary services and protection to make
safe and secure lifestyle. After Covid-19 there is many of homeless people are providing shelter,
food and water to survive in emergency. While at some points, government is unable to provide
houses to each citizen or people living in country. One of major reason is corruption in
government departments and other agencies which are not working for development and social
service but for money. Also, local people are criticize the other community people and not
welcoming to them. This is also one of the major reason that lower class people of other
community are majorly homeless in country.
Other practices from government side can be done through low interest charge from
middle class and lower class income people. As, major of income are spending to pay rent house,
loans EMI and interest. There are wide fall in purchasing land and house in country due to high
prices charged by owners and governments. Cities like Sydney and Melbourne where are
employment is considered is very costly city for middle and low income people (Coates, Nolan
and Chen, 2020). They are unable to afford their basic lifestyle in country and cerate consumer
spending power low. As result, development of country affect overall in country. Major of
country people can live in shelter only if there is high pay in market for jobs and employment.
This ultimately increase the needs and demand for houses in country, rental and land purchase

both. While government of Australia is also need to work on public housing in country that
provide major of houses to those people who are unable to pay rental or living without shelter.
To improve access to housing for vulnerable individual or group can be suggested as
disabilities person who is unable to earn high income and paid high rents and EMI of houses.
The physical difficulties or mental and health issues people living in country need to be take care
by government through providing services like shelter, food and water. In improve the access to
community of disability and make employed in public sector companies in country to earn basic
amount to live basic lifestyle (Parsell, Clarke and Kuskoff, 2020). It help disable person to make
his/her life easy as government and other people are taken as garneted. The government is started
many programs where disable person can register themselves for facilities provided by
government. This will help to live a basic standard life in country. Australian government can
also get knowledge about the total number of people that are disable in country through data they
are collected and to provide with shelter. They are provided services like education, employment,
program accessibility and community access. The record of this community is maintain be
government and provide with all services that leads to development and maintain the quality life
of people living in Australia.
The other community can be elders which don’t have their home and are unable to work
and earn money. Government help them by providing shelters, food and water to live quality life
in country. They are provide with quality of life, entertain b volunteers which help elder to make
happy. There medical expenses, treatments are all sponsored by government and agencies or
NGO’s. The infrastructure by government in country is developed for these communities for
giving standard life and bear major of expenses by providing free services to them. The
government and other agencies need to provide with many services to certain community like
elder people which are homeless and disable person to feel them important part of country and
they are also having equal rights in society. The ultimate result for providing this service is
maintain the society life balanced in country and increase the human power by providing
employment (Wanka, Schmidt and Settersten, 2020).
The law is also being created by government to maintain the life of this community and
they also have human rights with disabilities. All of them are of provide with same equality,
fairness and respect in society. Disable person are also provide with employment in private and
public sectors which help to earn and live a standard life. Companies cannot denied for hiring
them where their talent can be useful. This is just a waste of human resource in country and leads
to poor development. Company with disable person shows the equality and fairness they are
following for work and increase the brand image and goodwill in market and attract more
customers. Disable person is already have difficult life, by which government make some easy
process to live in society with respect by providing house and essential services that are needed
to them (Macfarlane and et.al. 2020)

Supporting housing system will also leads to reduce in costly system in society by other
private owners. The increase in cost is the major issue of homeless [people that are affect most in
country. the lower and middle people are living on rental which are also charged high. The
owner of houses are charges high and services are also not provided by within house rent.
Further on, government had bring housing programs to middle and low income people that help
them to live in house and can easily get shelter to stay. This developed high amount of houses for
people that can be shifted I this house under government program. While this results in low
people staying up with private houses and apartments due to high cost (Petersen and Parsell,
2020). Owner of house and apartments is not having other option and to reduces the charges and
prices of rental and also to provide with services. The cost of living will reduce for people living
in rental and can spend their income on other factors.
Government also need to create certain lows for big firms of country or foreign
companies to provide rent allowance for employees who are unable to spend high amount on
rents. On the other hand, they allow provide company housing apartments for employees to live
in with minimum charges and provided with all services like laundry, canteen and lounge
(Pradolin and Coats, 2020). It help employees and company both for achieving and the ultimate
results. This create high employees which are working with companies and leads to less
houseless people in country. Also with some social services which are under their corporate
social responsibilities in country to developed country infrastructure and worked with equality
and fairness without any discrimination for disable person or other community people.
CONCULSION
The above essay conclude that, housing homeless in Australia country is quite high due
to expensive living cost. The spending power of people are major used in paying rents and utility
bills. Charges of rent and land prices are increasing day by day in country and in major cities like
Melbourne and Sydney, it is almost impossible to purchase land or house for middle class
people. The government is working on some programs that help lower and middle income level
people to stay in houses developed by government and provide with all facilities. However,
disable person and elder person are top most priority for government to provide with shelter,
food and water to this people. Treatment towards them in country is equality and have all human
rights in country.
