INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development enables an individual to show his or her
capabilities in accomplishment of specific goals and objectives. A personally developed person
is able to perform all tasks and abilities within organization. Every functional area requires
special set of skills and knowledge, therefore managers have to provide training and
development assistance to improve core competencies of employees (Moon, 2013). Personal and
professional development plan help to recognise own strength and weaknesses and them make
effective use of them. It record own progress and achievements for specific purpose so that
individuals can achieve their goals and objectives in an effective manner. Apart from this, the
report will be described, own aims and targets of individuals and a PDP will be formulated. If
people have effective management and leadership skills then they can easily attain future career
goals and objectives in a minimum time period. Furthermore, readers will also come to know
future plans of individuals.
Strength
My major strength is having good team building skills, it would helpful for me to manage
the overall team performance in the best possible manner My another capability is having
effective communication skills; it helps me to interact with people through which I can
easily influence them to do working activities. Due to my positive attitude and clam
behaviour I am capable to listen others. This strengthen aids me to determine employees'
queries and issues (Avalos, 2011). My friendly behaviour is accessible for me to make
healthy and strong relationship with employees so as they can collaborate me all working
activities.
Weakness
Due to lack of working experience, I do not have effective problem solving skills. This
would also affect decision making process of the company. My another weakness is lack
of leadership and management skills; as I am not capable to manage people effectively.
Sometimes, I cannot work in high pressure and get angry in small things because of my
short tempered nature. My cognitive skills are also not much effective, it involves the
ability to examine as well as synthesise information.

I have good educational qualifications, it helps me to get great opportunities in future. In
this modern era, there are several multinational companies are established, so that there is
increased the demand of HR professionals. Business organisations are ready to pay
higher amount to these HR managers. Therefore, it would be great opportunity for me.
With the assistance of senior managers, I am learning several skills, communication,
presentation, training and team management etc. As I have good team building skills, this

It is essential for individuals to prepare a self review so as to analyse which skills would
be improved. For this purpose, I need to focus on several major areas which are assistive for me
to accomplish goals and targets.
Personal skills – In the session of self review, it is foremost for individuals to determine
their personal skills and how to improve them in the best possible manner. As per my strengths, I
have good interpersonal skills, it helps me to make healthy and positive working environment at
workplace. In addition, I have enough knowledge of different languages, through which I can
easily communicate with different cultural people and listen their needs and wants in the best
possible manner. Due to my effective listening skills, I can understand problems and issues of

my subordinates and provide them imperative solutions. Apart from this, as lack of corporate
experience, I am not capable to resolve individuals issues and problems. Sometimes this can put
negative impact on my image. Although I am very punctual person, but I have lack of time
management capabilities; it results not completion of working activities. On the other hand, my
friendly and jolly nature helps to manage healthy and positive employee relations at workplace
so that they can easily share their ideas and concepts with me. It can also improves employees
performance level and managers a healthy organisational cultural (Reeves, 2012).
Academic skills – I also have to improve my academic skills; for this I have to gain better
knowledge about market and start training sessions accordingly. Along with this, I have joined a
distance learning programmes, it helps me to gain high competitive growth in a certain time
period. In order to improve my academic skills I have to study about new subject matters so as to
properly familiar with all areas. There are several seminars and workshops are organise which
are assistive in enhancing knowledge in a particular area. For example- as my leadership and
managerial skills are not so good, thus I have to attend those seminars which are specially
organised for improving leadership and management skills. Although, it can build leadership and
management capabilities which helps to become an effective leaders in future (Van Driel and
Berry, 2012). Beside this, the distance learning programmes increases my core competencies as
well as educational qualification through which I will get promotion as well as salary hike in a
minimum time scale.
Career – For career enhancement, I upgrade my educational qualification. I can join a an
apprenticeship program for I year time duration. It increases my skills and knowledge at
workplace through which I could manage all employees in a systematic manner. On the other
hand, I need to improve my practical and technical skills. In order to get higher career growth I
need to research a particular topic and identify various sources of data collection, i.e. databases
and libraries. In addition, interest sources, like social media and web portals also helpful for me
to provide career advancement. For instance – due to social media channels I find changes in HR
patterns and what are necessary skills for it. Now these days, several business organisations also
provide training and development assistance to their employees in order to boost up their
knowledge in a particular field. I need to attend meetings and discussions by taking permission
of the senior managers. I need to spend quality time with higher authorities so as to improve the
decision making capabilities. Furthermore, I can prefer net suffering more and more so as to get

knowledge about what are the current market trends and how to grab them in the best possible
manner.
Indicators of success – there are different types of key success indicators which helps
individuals to accomplish career goals and objectives in a minimum time period. Below describe
certain major key success indicators of an individual, such as- Set priorities – It is one of the key success indicator, i.e. I need to prioritize certain tasks
and activities which should be achieved as soon as possible. I also have to set some goals
which are required to achieve in short time period. Thus, a time management matrix will
be easily explained what is important or what not (Taylor and et. al., 2011). Schedule time approach – I also have to prepare a time schedule for all working
activities which are involved in task as well as goal accomplishment process. It includes
day to day operations have to be classified into three to four quadrants. Therefore, by
using time log people can identify that how much time is taken by each and every task. It
makes easier the process of strategy formulation. Implementation of effective communication- As a HR manager I need to implement free
flow of communication at workplace in which employees can easily coordinate with their
higher authorities. This would helps in sharing problems and issues of people and they
can also share ideas and thoughts with managers (Roeser and et. al., 2012). Thus, open
communication can regulate an imperative organisational cultural.
Provide training and development assistance – Another key success indicator is, I need
to participate in training and development session. It also help employees to learn new
and innovative which raised their performance level also. Along with this, training and
development events create coordination and cooperation within employees and managers
which also improves their interpersonal relations. It results improvements in business
strategies as well as decision making process through which firm can easily achieve its
goals and objectives in the best possible way.
