INTRODUCTION
Professional development includes the to be able to develop oneself in the criteria to
entirely understand one’s job and how a person can make improvement in that. It is the aspect
that allows an entity to make change in one’s personality to be able to meet the organizational
goals and fulfill their responsibility in terms of the achieving aim. Whereas personal
development refers to the activities that a person intake in them in order to develop capabilities
and the potential , facilitate employ ability and make improvement in the quality of life in
realization of dreams and aspirations of a person (Çelen and Seferoglu, 2020). The aim of this
report is to highlight professional interest in the human resource department , discussion about
the field with the job analyses and identifying the strengths and connect it with the personal path.
It also adds the personal challenge of the person faces on the job and how to overcome with the
strengths. In the task 2 of this report in includes continuation of the professional development
plans with its approaches and various ideas in a reflective approach.
TASK
Describe a given professional field
The term human resource department refers to the department in the organization which is
responsible for management of the employee-related resources. It is very important part of the
organization and its success. One of the main function of the human resource department is to
recruit and to provide guidance to the employees of the company with the management of the
culture of the organization strategically. HRM considers workers of the company as the most
important asset. They work for many activities such as administration, recruitment and the
staffing, health and safety , training and development, compensation and benefit, labor and the
employee relation , check company rules and the policies and take disciplinary actions in the
company. The structure of human resource department is wide as it provides varieties of services
to the organization.
Discuss and analyse your career paths
There are varieties if career paths in the human resource department for an individual because in
consist roles and responsibilities with the necessary qualification ,responsibilities and the
expectations for each and every role. In the field of human resource I have different career
options in it as I can work as a HR assistant whose role is to perform lower level tasks and takes
the direction from the report to the HR staff. Another career option for me includes HR
generalist who works on a tactical role with the wide knowledge of the human resource functions
which comprises the functions from hiring to on boarding employees. For me in the HR
department a career path includes a HR manager which comprises the hiring to changing
organization in terms of making healthy working environment and responsible for improving
transparency. There are another option for me in the human resource which is HR director who
own all the human resource efforts and ensures the smooth implementation and the management
in all policies regarding Human resource.

Human resource is the role which involves the lots of communication written and verbal and the
complete knowledge of the particular field in terms of performing one’s duty effectively. My
strength in this field includes that I am a very good communicator and I listens to the people to
know what is their thought process. One of the greatest strengths of mine includes that I manage
the time effectively which is very important in the in the role of HR as one need to ensure the
time and utilize it in doing something productive (Cirocki and Farrell, 2019). My strengths
includes my skills of problem solving as it it very important to solve the issues of the employees
in the organization I tried to analyses things from the different different perspective and after
deep evaluation I take the decision. The last quality which I possess is my professional
development which is very essential to handle a team in the company. I need this ability to
organize different events and the training sessions for the employees.
Identify possible challenges and discuss how you can overcome them with your strengths
There are many different challenges that is face by human resource department as HR deals with
the human being and handling human being and fulfilling their demands and completing
responsibilities is not an easy task to do. The challenges are given below:
Attracting talent- It’s a very difficult task to attract capable people in the organization
and making them aware of the company policies and workings as lots of communication
and convince power needs to do this task. My communications skills will help me in
completing this specific task from which I effectively communicate to the people who
are capable as per the requirement.
Developing leaders- This the ,major challenge in the human resource department as on
the basis if this whole working of the organization depends. A leader should be effective
in its working and in handling the teams. My professional development skills help me in
taking this decision as I have the capability to evaluate the employees in terms of their
behavior and work, so it is easy for me to take decision in terms of developing leaders.
Managing diversity in the organization- In a company there are many employees and all
are belong to different backgrounds and because of different thought process its being
difficult for them to handle certain situation which as a result increase the conflicts and
issues between the employees (Yu, 2018). My problem solving skill will help me in
solving the problem of the people. I will deeply analyze each and every problem and
then create a solution based on the employees benefit as well as for the organization.

Analysis: With the help of given presentation, it is made clear that this is the most effective tool
to achieve success in life and achieve personal and professional growth. I need to emphasis more
on communication skills as it helps me to manage all my activities and task on time.
Communication skill increase expression of views, improve critical thinking and reduce burden
of work. However, the effective communication skill not only reduce conflicts but also enhance
leadership quality.
Conclusion: The above discussion highlights the importance of communication in the workplace
that help me to coordinate the business activities which are crucial part of management . It
promotes smooth functioning of business and give direction to the employee to perform in a right
direction. Effective Communication skill helps to reduce disputes and misunderstanding between
the employees and employers in the workplace.
Action Plan: In order to enhance communication skill , I need to make plans and have to
implement those task to command over my speaking skills including verbal and non verbal
communication skill at workplace.
Gibbs Reflective Cycle: It is one of the popular cyclical mode of reflection that gives an
individual to explore their life experience. It was first introduced by the Graham Gibbs in the
year 1998 , helps to structure the individual learning their life and valuable for individual's
growth. It helps to strategies plans and policies to examine their experience along with effective
techniques that helps to achieve these skills. The following strategies consists of six stages which
helps me to analyze my experience in the universities. The Gibbs Reflective cycle has been
mentioned below:
Description: It is considered as the first stage of this model through which I can describe all the
situation that I have faced in the University (Harvey and Carpenter, 2020). I would like to define
every situation which I face and how I deal with it. When I have done my group project and
assignment with my team mates. The project involved many elements and each team member

has to chosen one. We expect that we could complete the given task in the afternoon but when
we all sat down ,not able to write down in the same writing style. To make effective completion
of task , we have to rewrite the element of the given assignment . So , such writing helps to
develop my skills, knowledge and learning in the relevant field.
Feelings: This is considered as the second stage of Gibbs Model , I am able to develop my
feelings and thoughts during the university and how this feeling influence my experience. In this
stage , I would like to express my feelings before and after I have faced the situation. The group
project are assigned to me and my group member but still we have to do the assignment within a
specified period of time. When I am unable to complete my work , it irritates me a lot. The
motivation skill helps me to rewrite the task. Many people in my group had cancel their plans
and because of that I feel guilty. Later, completion of task make me feel satisfied. The
motivation skill not help me to complete the task but also ensure my objective to submit the task
on time.
Evaluation: The third stage of model helps me to evaluate the experiences including good or
bad . It defines the idea that I have developed to deal with such situation. In this stage. I would
try my best to achieve the aims and objectives to give effect to such situation. I am positive
person to deal with negative situation. The assignment are performed in team to examine the
productivity of the task and also motivate us to cancel their set plans. It helps us to develop many
skills . Some of the negative impact of such writing is the writing style. At this stage of , I am
not only improve my verbal communication but also non verbal communication promotes time
management which helps me to develop in me.
Analyzing: The fourth stage of the Gibbs model give me chance to analyze the situation. In this
stage , I am questioning to myself whether I am able to achieve the target or not, If not, then
what will be the reason for such error (Mason and Reeves, 2018). I personally believe that roles
and responsibilities is assigned as per the strength and weakness of the group members. I
assigned the task according to their interest . I experience those working which matches to my
strength. I also like to discover new things and also same by my group. It is a general rule that
the cost must be given according to the stress and workload involve in that work. I am never
decide the work structure and manner for completion of task. With the help of research, situation
can be handled in most effective manner. The reason behind completion of such task involves
thinking skill of an individual and the team member and because of that we are able to share the
team idea for proper implementation in the workplace.
Conclusion: This stage is considered as the fifth stage of model in which I got an opportunity to
done all my work in most appropriate manner. This final stage is also known as summarizing
stage in which different skills helps me to overcome the certain barriers , along with that employ
ability skill needs to be learn in order to achieve organizational goal. I also learn management
skills through which I can divide the task between the group. Firstly, we have to plan according
to the set goal and You can write in first person for this taskimplement in the way as it was

planned. It can be concluded with the help of “Belbin Team Role” outlines the individual to
identify their strength and use it in the short term project. Effective communication help us in
research skill and I find this model as an motivational tool. It is very difficult to develop
information and technology skill but I learn t to complete my task along with my team members.
Action Plan: It is considered as the final stage of Gibbs model in which I got an opportunity to
design new plans and strategies to increase productivity of my group members. I have discovered
many new skills that will help me to personal and professional growth. In order to improve
communication skill and strengthen my weakness, I have to make small set of goals and review
the task whether I successfully complete my task . This time management and self management
skills are also enhanced in me.
CONCLUSION
From this above report, it has been concluded that personal and professional development is
an effective tool for proper implementation of new skills in life. It ensure higher productivity and
efficiency to an individual. The new learning and skills helps in personal and professional
growth. An individual should set their goals and objectives to meet the organizational goal .
There objectives includes short term and long term objectives in order to achieve the desired
result. There are many important skills such as communication skill, decision making skill,
problem solving skill are the basic skills that every individual should learn.
