Development of knowledge and skills contribute towards increasing performance of employees
which in turn supports business organizations to attain distinct level of heights in the market. The
existing report will therefore asses the knowledge, and other attributes essential for HR
professionals in Hotel Hilton by conducting knowledge and skill audit and developing personal
and professional plan. In addition to this, it will evaluate numerous other factors for improving
learning skills of employees which further support driving business performance in the
sustainable manner. Further the report will illustrate the methods for increasing performance
working that contribute towards competitive position of business. Communication, collaborative
working as well as performance management will also be explained in the following report.

HR professionals.
Being at the position of HR professional, it is important to possess specific set of knowledge and
skills for overall growth of personnel as well as business organization. Hilton operates as
multinational hotel and is well known for high level of customer satisfaction and therefore HR
must attain following knowledge and skills along with behaviours.
Knowledge: It is important for HR professional within Hotel Hilton to possess knowledge about
issues and details in context to human resources. They must be well aware about points and
terms included in employment contract, performance management, as well as rules related to
absenteeism and leaves of employees. Overall growth of hotel is based on serving customers in
the most effective manner and therefore HR professionals must focus on providing employees
with appropriate training (Tsui and Schamberger, 2017). In addition to this, knowledge about
employment legislations as well as on how to develop jib description and person specification as
per the current vacant position is must.
Skills: Hospitality industry requires high level of expertise in terms of communication while
serving customers and therefore HR professionals must possess high level of communication
skills along with knowledge of various languages. This would be further helpful in creating letter
related to employee relations, policies, etc. In addition to communication skills, there are certain
interpersonal skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, team working, etc for improving
the organizational productivity.
Behavior: There has been identified greater competition within hospitality industry and therefore
it is important for HR professionals within Hotel Hilton to prepare employees to adopt and
manage changes within the business entity in positive manner (Geimer et.al.2017). HR
professional must exhibit positive behavior while handling employees at the time of managing
risk in terms of changing organizational structure and policies. Their communication must

has been made for enhancing the abilities. Similarly I lack behind in resolving problems
associated with HRM and for this it is important to discuss the issues with other so that solutions
can be identified. Team working skills can be improved by using motivation techniques but at
the same time I do possess abilities of understanding issues of employees. In addition to this, I
have good written communication skills but on the contrary I must focus on improving my
