INTRODUCTION
Professional growth is all about gaining new skills and experience. That means your
development is either related to your current role or the role you want to do next. Personal
development fits alongside professional growth so if you want to progress in your career, you'll
need to develop personally first.

Gibbs reflective cycle
This model consists 6 stages in it and that begins from experience of individual on
personal level so that it can be easily understood. Usually this method is considered for same
stages there are only fewer times when it is used for single purpose.
Description-
This aspect of model describes the things that individual had to go through and face
which will all be assessed in detailed way. For instance- I got assigned a task which I had to
submit on time and the task was on personal and professional development. I was strictly told
that no other member can be involved in this task it had to be done solely by one person who
increased the burden on me. There was a place where I made an mistake and that was getting out
of the way and being too overconfident on it. I thought that task is easy and will be completed in
a very short span of time but when I got to it I realized that I was wrong because when I started
it, it took a lot longer and I had to give all my attention to it and break out on anything else I was
working on (Salter and Rhodes, 2018).
Feelings-
This stage of model focuses on feelings of individual and it enrolls that specific stage
when the person was working on his task, apart from that it assesses what differences it made for
them. for instance before I found out that I had to work on this project I didn’t care about it at

most but when they told me the deadline on it I was scared. The reason behind that was because I
didn’t started the work on time and it struck me that was a big mistake committed by me because
now I had to start over and with that I knew that this work will not be my best. While I was
working on it I was not feeling well as I had to work under a lot of stress because the deadline
was near. This made me understood the value of deadline and the mistake I made. Then I gave
up working with this thought process as it was consuming more time and worked on it with a
fresh mind. Until I completed the work I was not relaxed (Charissi, 2020).
Evaluation-
This stage assesses things which were successful and which of them was failure. In order
to make it successful it is important that work done must be with full determination without any
cheating. This will help in preparing the task with fresh and accurate data from recent analysis. It
is necessary that experience is evaluated on the basis of both factors that is positive and negative.
For instance positive side of this factor is that the work done by me was good enough to pass.
Other than that it also motivated me because I was working under fear. Although the negative
outcome on this was that it would be a lot easier if I didn’t waste the time since the beginning
then it would be a lot easier to finish it off.
Analysis-
This is the last stage of this model which puts their focus on positive as well as negative
factors with assessing the reasons to it and what caused them. for instance I got success in this
task because I listened to my teachers when they shared notes and knowledge during the class.
Apart from that I understood it is necessary to work with motivation and confidence instead of
getting scared and overconfident. It was my mistake to think that if I start at end then I can
complete it on time but when they announced the deadline it created more difficulties for me. I
understood that it is important to plan everything on time and follow it on mandatory basis
(Mahlanze and Sibiya, 2017).
Conclusion-
This aspect of model is about the conclusion on the stages that individual had to face
while working on the task. Anything learned by him will be described in this stage. For instance

I understood that it takes time for them to analyze the research and add the right form of data in
the task assigned. Apart from that I clearly understood that if it start working on time I can make
changes in the areas in which I am facing difficulties and weak so that I can complete the work
with efficiency (Akrivou, Scalzo and Orón, 2020).
Action Plan-
This stage of model assesses that what steps will the people working on the task take if
they have to go through this again in near future. They can make changes by planning with
things that are necessary to do in the beginning and not waste the time. this way they make sure
that what happened in the past must not be repeated again. For instance I have made sure that I
will never suffer negativity over these small things again. For that I will keep myself prepared
which will involve everything that is research for the task and putting it in the right manner. apart
from that I will make sure to get a hold on my habits so that I can save time and complete it
before deadline (Tepavicharova and Dikova, 2019).
Reflective Journal
Communication skills
I learned that I had to improve in this aspect as there were both written and oral form of
communication in which I needed to make focus as this was an important form which cannot be
ignored. It reflects on attributes of an individual which help them to represent themselves in a
better way. I understood the importance of leaving an impression in front of audience as it will
help them to remember me next time. My written skills are comparatively better which is why
reader to the task faced no difficulty at all while reading it. This has helped me gain confidence
as next time I will do it in a better way.
Research skills
In order to complete the task with better data in it, individual will have to make sure that
research that is done must be through credible sources. This task helped me a lot to find out the
sources that are reliable. Due to this I was able to learn reliable sources which will help me in my
future tasks assigned to me. While I was researching for the data of task I was able to find

different and various areas which helped me gained more knowledge. In order to get the data I
used the method of questionnaire.
ICT-
It involves dealing with technological aspects and communication. This aspect helped me
in many areas to make my skills better with literacy, vocabulary and numeracy etc. apart from
that I understood that why it gets easier when work is done in coordination with the support of
each other. As with the help of each other they can share their ideas and find out solutions to
make it better. With the help of this aspect I was able to find out new and viable opportunities.
Teamwork-
There were strict rules for this task that no one can work together but still we friends
helped each other without letting anyone know. With the help of each other we were able to
remove many faults in the task. I realized that I had to gain my speed as I started up late.
Time and self management-
It was my fault that I never gave importance to time but after the task assigned to me and
work done by me on it I realized that there is no greater power and responsibility that is bigger
than time. I planned everything on the basis of time so that I can finish my task on deadline but
there was a lot of pressure due to that which is why I have made sure to respect time and work
under its guidelines.
Problem solving skills-
These skills are meant to be helpful as there were many stages in the task in which I was
stuck at but due to these skills I was able to figure out solutions to various problems I was stuck
at. These skills are useful as I was under a lot of pressure and only because of this aspect I was
able to reduce it and complete my work.

CONCLUSION
From the above studies it has been concluded that it is important for the individual to
understand the importance of time and plan everything on the basis of it so that they can get the
work done in time and they will be able to make sure that work done is without errors.
