Question 3(a)
One of the 9Ps of induction is ‘Policies and Procedures’ wherein the new employees are
expected to be aware about the company’s policies and also the company communicates the
consequences of policy breaches (Andriotis, 2017). Moreover, FIT gym can include the policy
and procedures into the induction program of two new General Managers. Also, the company
can provide a written copy of documents which the new managers can go through and
understand in a better way.
The second P of 9Ps of induction is ‘People’ which is concerned with the facilitation of a
name-tag that helps in the determination of the new employees (Sprogoe & Elkjaer, 2010). When
FIT gym is introducing new General Managers then they should be called by the positions rather
than their individual names as the existing staff members might forget their names. Bulletin
boards or notice boards can be used for the induction process.
Further, ‘Power’ as the third P of 9Ps of induction which suggest that new employees are
needed to be well versed with their respective responsibilities into the organization and also, they
should be introduced with their reporting managers (Antonacopoulou & Guttel, 2010). Similarly,
in the process of induction program of FIT gym, it is crucial that the new General Managers have
a clear understanding of their duties, responsibilities and authority into the organization and also
guidance of appropriate behavior into the organization which is unwritten but needs to be
communicated in a coherent manner.
Question 3(b)
Designing of an induction program involves welcoming of the new employees by
introducing them the norms and policies of the organization (Srimannarayana, 2016). Moreover,
in order to prepare one day induction program for FIT gym in order to welcome the new General
Managers that are being recruited, the following design can be adopted:
