INTRODUCTION
A career view point is beneficial for the individuals because it helps them in estimating
their growth and development in a particular field. It is important for an employee to analyse his
strengths and weaknesses for knowing opportunities (Sandford, 2018). A personal analysis like
SWOT can be helpful in analysing the strength and weakness and opportunities as well. A
personal analysis helps in determining the competencies of an individual. In the following report,
a personal analysis of a HR manager is interpreted. A HR manager has different roles and
responsibilities like controlling, planning, executing and directing the business activities. The
main objective of this report is to evaluate the skills and enhancing them for betterment. The
determination of these competencies helps in gaining knowledge about what a person lacks and
what he should do to enhance his skills, knowledge and capabilities. Such analysis provide an
individual information about sessions and learning which an individual should know for his
growth and development. Also, this analysis will help in developing and improving own skills
and capabilities. A discussion is taken place in this report which includes a personal skill analysis
of a Human resource manager. This study has information about experiences of individual and it
includes certificates of seminars and learning sessions attended by a person. This analysis tells
about the current position of an individual and knowing about his knowledge and abilities for
achieving goals and objectives in specified time frame. This report includes a career action plan
which is designed for analysing abilities of an individual. This helps a person in knowing
information about the plan which can be adopted by for improving the skills and abilities of an
individual. At last, a CV is given in this report of a human resource manager. This contains
complete detail about skills and abilities of the HR manager.
PERSONAL ANALYSIS
A personal analysis is the evaluation of own skills of an individual. This helps in
identification of skills competencies of an individual (Parks-Leduc, Feldman, and Bardi, 2015).
This skill audit is done by using different techniques that are helpful in identifying actual status
of knowledge and capability of a person. From the overall analysis of my own skills, it has been
identified by me that according to my job role of HR manager in an organisation that operates
globally there is requirement of core skills and abilities that should be present in an employee. A
HR manager wants to have different skills for sustaining longer in the company and managing
the HR operations and activities effectively. I have concluded from my personal evaluation that I

am good at planning and coordinating with management and strategies of the company but the
skill in which I lack is the communication skill and interpersonal skill. I am not able to interact
with my existing employees properly. Moreover, I have good soft speaking skills and also I have
good negotiating skill. I am able to maintain a positive work culture in the organisation that helps
me in managing and controlling several plans and activities of HR in an effective manner. Also,
while evaluating my weak areas, it has been analysed by me that my team working skill and
technical skills are also not appropriate. According to my job role both of these skills are highly
important as without having proficiency in them it would be harder for me to survive longer in
HR field and serve administration of the organisation (Fox, 2017). This evaluation of skill is
done on my personal analysis and feedback received from colleagues and superiors. My
colleagues have told me that I am not able to work in a team effectively because when i do work
with other people, I feel irritated and not able to concentrate on my work. Due to this, my
efficiency decreases and my focus towards goals and targets also diminish. Nowadays all HR
activities like performance appraisal form, employee growth rate, retention rate, hiring rate are
evaluated through software, thus I should have good knowledge of operating the systems and
new applications. If I am not able to use these software, I will be inefficient in my work. On the
basis of my own analysis and team analysis, I have interpreted that I must improve my
communication and interpersonal skills. By improving these skills, I will be able to perform the
HR activities effectively and efficiently.
CAREER ACTION PLAN
A career action plan is a plan which is kind of a roadmap that consists of defining and
documenting steps essential for attaining the goals and objectives of the job task (Little and Gee,
2017). This action plan is a flexible process that is analysed by an individual which can be
started and updated any time. This plan involves a wide range of components which helps in
progressive development. This consists of an individual’s profile, goals, progress, reviews and
plans. The main objectives of a career action plan are described below-
The profile is a self development information that assists self reflection for understanding
the values, abilities and skills of own.
The progress of an individual is assessed by the self development information that
includes self reflection on the basis of experiences and past achievements.

The plans and goals involves self development for acknowledging and developing
information for career exploration, capabilities and information for encouragement of
location, investigation and consideration of opportunities in working and learning.
The review consists of career management information for adjusting and assisting career
action plan and manage transitions, choices and changes.
An individual can take advice from a career coach while conducting a self analysis. The career
plan is given as follows-
Where do I want to go and why
I want to be a good and effective HR manager and for this I had to possess a lot of skills like
communication skills, team working, organisational skills, technical skills, personal skills and
organisational skills (Santos, and et. al., 2017). As a HR manager I had to build communication
skills and interpersonal skill for performing well.
What do I already have that will get me there
As I lack in communication and interpersonal skills , I can take sessions for improving my
communication skills and develop my interpersonal skills. I should do hard work in achieving
and developing skills for doing my work effectively.
What actions do I need to take to get there
My goals are broken into small parts and several objectives are made for enhancing the skills and
abilities of mine. The SMART goals have to be made for improving work. First of all I have to
attend sessions and programs which will enhance my interpersonal and communication skills.
