Retail industry include combination of various activities related to selling of consumer
able goods to customers so that their household and personal needs can be fulfilled in best
possible manner. Human resources manager is responsible for planning and organizing people in
the firm so that several tasks can be completed in smooth manner. The main aim of this report is
to understand the way general trends impact on retail industry and what are the skill required
related to specific professional. So, this report has included crucial information related to trend
and key skills required by Human resources manager to performed diverse range of task and

particular profession as well as industry. There are numerous trends in external environment that
are affecting professional career such as human resources manager as well as retail industry. So,
from both secondary and primary research, it can be stated that the changes or trends impact on
human resources are globalization and technology (Machado, 2018). Such as:
Globalization: It is one of the trends that has affected on human resources profession in retail
industry as with globalization companies are planning to expand their business in order to earn
more profitability. HR manager with globalization must have various skill and capabilities to
understand culture, value and policies of different countries in order to handle individual that
belong to various countries. Thus, Hr manager in retail sector while formulating strategies and
policies needs to considered preferences of people that belong to different culture in order to
motivate them to work hard for benefits of organization. Moreover, globalization has lead in
providing more opportunities for post of HR manager in companies with an motivate to handle
and manage range of people working in the firm (Hitka, Lorincová and Ližbetinová, 2017).
Therefore, it can be stated that HR profession and retail industry has been affected by
globalization to certain extend.

me effectively sharing information about company to various employees. I have also People
management skills which helps me in handling and managing numerous individual within firm.

helps me in managing performance of employees that are working in the firm.

well as profession of my choice as I am interested to work in Tesco. So, the company has
recently post an vacancy of HR performance management thereby right individual can be
attracted and selected for growth and benefits of firm. As per my view, this job opportunities
needs to be considered by others, as there are various companies in retail sectors that are unable
to manage people in the organization. Therefore, there are various demand or vacancy of HR
manager in firm to handle diverse range of people that are performing different function in
company.
At last, it can be stated that the job role is futuristic, as there will be demand of HR
manager in numerous companies in order to manage large number of employees so that several
operations can be easily completed. Therefore, I have decided to pursue my career as HR
manager in Tesco company to get experience as well as enhance my existing skills.
