Introduction
The personal development fits with the professional growth as it is about gaining of
new skills and experiences. The personal development is the part of inborn human needs for
growth and reaching to full potential. This is a continuing process which allows people to set
goals, assess and new skills, qualities are developed in the individual. This leads to happier
and high-quality lives. The professional growth takes place in particular stage of lives which
is specific and career-oriented need that benefits employees greatly. The main aim of
professional development is to acquiring and learning new knowledges and skills
continuously for having support in career goals (Bauer, T and et.al., 2018). The selected
professional field of interest is Human Resource. The report is being divided into two Tasks.
In task 1 career plan is prepared by selecting field of professional interest, analysing career
paths, strengths are identified and challenges are identified. The task 2 covers the reflection
report on the skills and model is applied in reflection process. With this PDP plan is prepared
stating objectives.

Skills required in HR
Communication skill- In the human resource management he communication is
essential as it create link between business and employer. The communication skill is
required to communicate with different stakeholders and at different level of
authority. The positive and good communication leaves positive impression.
Research skill- This skill is an ability of finding solutions to an problem which
requires the gathering and analysing of information. This is valued by many
employers which is beneficial for employees in all position. This skill helps me in
career development in the field of HR where I will be capable of solving several
issues associated with the HR (Pylväs, L. and Nokelainen, P., 2021).
The use of ICTs- This allows to monitor and managing the own learning, critically
thinking and creatively, real problems are solved, works in collaboration and engaged
in decision making. The use of this helps in assuring human resource planning

efficiency. It ensures of better training and development. The use of online platform
helps in ensuring information accuracy for selection and recruitment in HR.
Team work and self-management- This skill is imperative as an HR professional it
is expected to work together in team with colleagues and with managers. The working
together aligns the HR activities and benefits to both HR and organisation. The self
management skill helps in managing small group of employees who takes
responsibility. This is an ability of controlling and regulating actions. With this skill
HR work can be accomplished efficiently.
Problem solving skills- This skill is related to determining the happening and
resolving the issues. This skill helps me lot in solving the conflicts, HR issues related
to recruitment, compensation and many more. This skill can be enhanced more by
developing active listening, critical thinking, decision making, team building etc.
Kolb’s Reflective model
This model is referred as experimental learning based on the own experience which is
reviewed, analysed and evaluated systematically in four stages. This model was published in
1984.
Concrete experience- In this the person encounters new experience or
reinterpretation of existing experience. In the career path the person consciously and
physically experiences a situation which makes realise of learning something new or
needs to improve the existing skill and practice. In this stage the notes are prepared
for the specific situation and description is given on what, how a person feels and
what it thinks. This style takes an original and creative approach. The individuals who
prefer to takes this learning style tends to enjoy task more such as brain storming
ideas and working collaboratively in groups.
Reflective Observation- In such description of experience is written down and more
deeply it is reflected on the situation to know what happens. The question is asked to
ourselves regarding the failure and what worked or why this situation arises. This
learning style emphasises on reasoning. It helps the individuals in reviewing facts and
experience as whole. They enjoys working on projects from start to finish and design
experiments (Sparkman, T.E., 2019).
Abstract conceptualization-This reflection provides a new idea and modification of
an existing abstract concept that is learned from the experience. From the observation
stage guiding questions are prepared like what a person can do differently or better or

how it can improve more. The different ways are found to deal with similar situations.
In this stage the person consults with colleagues and literature in directive to have
better understanding and further ideas. This style highlights of problem solving
learning. In helps individual in making decision and new experiences are applied.
Active Experimentation- In this the ideas are applied to see around what happens.
This stage is regarding the practicing of new acquired theoretical knowledge which
takes own reflections and thoughts for improvements. It is testing stage. The person
is able to make predications, tasks are analysed and plans are made for acquiring
knowledge in future. The learner puts its knowledge into practice and demonstrates
how it is relevant. This style is adaptable and intuitive. The person uses trial and error
for guiding experiences and prefers to re discover the answers for themselves.
Personal and professional development plan
This plan documents the goals, skills required, competency development and
objectives that staff member needs to accomplish for supporting continuous improvement and
career development. This plan is created by the managers to identify the necessary skills and
resources for supporting the staff member’s career goals and organisation business needs.
The PDP takes time and planning and process of creating action plan based on awareness,
values, reflection and goal setting.

From this it is being concluded that personal and professional development plan helps
an individual in identifying the career paths and goals. The individuals are influenced for the
critical thinking for the work. The development helps an individual in developing its skills
and capabilities so that it can perform better in the organisation by developing its interest in
the professional field of career path. The development helps in building career path of human
resources as it is a key element in success and failure of monitoring programs for meeting the
objectives. The required skills and competencies for human resource can be developed
through personal and professional development by gaining knowledge from several sources
and by practicing.
