Introduction:
The report aims at providing an insight into managing people in the context of the
approaches adopted by Human Resource (HR). The report revolves around approaches
adopted by HR while planning in a hospital scenario.
Approaches to HR Planning
These include:
Recruitment and Hiring of Newer Employees: Based on the job requirement in the
hospital the HR department should recruit employees (Dulebohn & Johnson, 2013). While
recruiting the HR manager should undertake a survey of the attitude and aptitude of the
candidate. Moreover, the selected candidates should be told about their growth while working
in the organization. Besides, the HR should make the newly recruited employee familiar with
the work conditions of the hospitals through a proper process of induction.
Undertake Communication Meetings At All Levels: The HR should undertake
upward as well downward communication that helps in inculcating a feeling of oneness
within the hospital. This should be done at a regular interval.
Providing Training and Retraining: Training represents a critical function of the
human resource. Employees need to be equipped with the new equipment and new
technology, new regulatory and legal demands and further skill development. Thus, human
resource should not only train employees in acquiring newer skills but also retrain those
whose present skills no longer hold importance.
Ensuring Recognition, Compensation and Reward Practices: This relates to the
monetary and the non monetary benefits (Shields et al., 2015). Recognition through non

monetary benefits could either be a formal letter or simply a pat on the back in front of the
others that acts as motivation for the employees.
Conclusion:
