Part 5: Data Collection and Analysis Plan
Adoption of the research strategy
The research questions are given through questionnaire method and are provided to the
employees of the food and beverage industry. The questionnaire will be given as hard copies or
sent via electronic mail to the selected participants for assessing the topmost five reasons of the
employee turnover in food and beverage market in Qatar. There are over 4100 restaurants in
Doha currently (Zomato, May 2018). I will be selecting six International casual dining
restaurants as the sample size. The research respondents will be selected from 20-30 years old
because in food and beverage industry, the mostly recruited younger people of this age group
(Statista 2018). According to the report of bureau of labor statistics, 1,996 people were recruited
to 20- 24 years and 2,201 recruited to 25- 34 years (Bureau of Labor Statistics 2018). The
questionnaire will comprise of closed ended questions with multiple choice answer options that
can be analyzed through likert scale method. The total number of respondents for the research
will be 100. The responses from the survey provide the opportunity to highlight the necessary
strategies that can be implemented by the HR..
Rationale for the research collection method to answer the research questions
The data collected will be through primary data that will determine the reason of
employee turnover in food and beverage industry which will be helpful to answer the research
question for finding the topmost five reasons for employee attrition. The research question of
finding best HR practices will also be obtained through the quantitative data collection.
The questionnaire comprised of three different forms of research questions that is based
on demographic questions, quantitative questions on effective HR practices and quantitative

questions on employee retention. The option for the quantitative questions will be presented as
“Strongly Agree”, “Agree”, “Neutral”, “Disagree” and “Strongly Disagree”. The response will
be analyzed quantitatively by collecting the response in numerical forms and illustrated
pictorially by using pie-charts, bar-charts and percentages.
Approach to data analysis
The analysis technique that will be used is regression analysis tool so that the relationship
among the two research variable that is “HR practices” and “Employee retention” can be
established. Thus, the research aim which is to find the impact of the HR practices on employee
retention. The research question of ‘five topmost reasons of the employee turnover in Casual
dining restaurants in Qatar Market’ can be obtained through the evaluation of the ranking of
question 3 in the questionnaire. The quantitative questions on the effective HR practices will
address the third research question. The research design will be retrospective that is the
respondents will be answering the questions after the event (resignation) via recall similar to exit
interview style. This will help the research to access respondents for the research.
Probable challenges
The challenge that will be occurred during the data analysis is that the top five reasons is
planned to gathered through the ranking system of the research question 3, which will be best
obtained through co-relation analysis. Thus, the reliability of the data is slightly compromised.
Ensuring validity and reliability
The data will be collected through questionnaire from the employees, who have recently
left their jobs; answering of questionaries’ will be easy, data will be more reliable as it’s based
on the recent event. The research instrument in this study will be in questionnaire form. The

survey questions opted for the research will be selected from the research journals and articles
developed by other research scholars. A pre-tested questionnaire will be considered in order to
develop the questionnaire for this research that will illustrate the reliability of the research result.
The research made from the research content of other research journals helps in highlighting the
supportive and opposing statement related with this study. Nardi (2018) stated that this process
will help in accomplishing the critical literature review by providing necessary arguments.
Moreover, these employees will be chosen from different food and beverage organizations, thus,
omitting the biasness from one particular company. The validity of the data will be represented
as updated data will be considered rater than data from previous time.
