INTRODUCTION
Talent management is defined as the systematic process of determining the vacant
position for hiring the suitable candidate, working toward developing their skills and capabilities
in order to make them suitable for the position to which they are hired and retain them for
achieving organisational aims and objectives. Additionally the competency, power, ability of
employees in an organisation is also consider as talent management. For performing this
investigation Grosvenor hotel is taken into consideration which was founded in year 1929 and
headquartered in London (Bratton and Watson, 2018). This is a luxury hotel that offer range of
accommodation related services and get managed by JW Marriott hotel. The main aim behind
conducting this study is to determine the role of HR related practices in term of talent
management that further contribute toward enhancing the productivity within hospitality sector.
For performing this investigation both primary and secondary data collection is going to be used
within this investigation so that appropriate information can be presented to achieve research
aims and objectives.

Overview of the topic
Talent management is basically a commitment to hire, manage, prepare and retain the
qualified or skilled employees within organisation. It involve all the HRM practices that are
related with the retention and development of workforce. There are number of approaches
available which support in effective management of talent at workplace and keep them prepare
toward future challenges. These includes regular organisation of training and development
practices, assessment of employees performance, providing appropriate compensation over the
efforts of employees and many other. These approaches support an organisation top keep
employees retain for longer duration (D’Annunzio-Green, 2018). For performing current study
Grosvenor hotel is taken into consideration which is a luxury hotel manage by Marriott hotel. It
offers its hospitality and accommodation related services within several different countries.

Therefore, in order to maintain the quality of services offered, it become very crucial for hotel to
keep its employees aware about the change prevailing within the industry along with the changes
in demand of consumers (Gupta, 2019). So that they become able to develop the skills or
capability of its employees as per the requirement which not only help in keeping the hotel ready
for satisfying the consumers demands but also contribute toward the personal development of
employees that provide them a self of accomplishment at workplace.

Research methodology is a framework which involve a detail regarding the set of tools
and techniques used by investigator to perform their research in effective manner by directing
over the actions to be taken (Gioia, Corley and Hamilton, 2013). The research methods used in
this investigation are mentioned below:
Type of investigation:- A research is mainly performed in one of two type i.e.
qualitative and quantitative. Among them quantitative method of investigation will be consider
as it support in getting and interpreting the information in statistical manner which ensures that
the data gathered will help in concluding the adequate outcome out of the study. In addition to
this it also support in saving time.
Research approach: There are mainly two type of research approach used for performing
an investigation such as Inductive and deductive. But for performing this investigation deductive
approach will be taken into consideration as it help in evaluating the quantitative data in more
effective manner (Mackey and Gass, 2015). In addition to this it is also very much helpful in

evaluating the information over some selected topic while on the other side inductive approach
focuses toward in depth study which is not suitable for this as it is time consuming.
Research philosophy- It basically provides a system of belief and assumptions related
with the development of knowledge and conduction of a research. It is basically if two types i.e.
positivism and interpretivisim. Out of theses two research philosophy use of interpretivisim
philosophy is made for this research as it facilitates better generalisation of data and also lead to
collection of in-depth information about the research topic.
Research strategy- Under this section of research methodology various sub sections and
strategies are included such as observation, case study, focus group, surveys, questionnaire, etc.
Use of theses strategy are made for collection of data from most reliable and authentic source.
With respect to this current research project, use of an questionnaire is made by the investigator
as the research strategy as it provides a combination of questions related with research topic thus,
makes it easy to gather and evaluate perspective of respondents.
Data collection- This section of research methodology provides information about the
sources from where the data is actually collected. It is mainly of two types i.e. primary and
secondary sources of data (Mackenzie and et. al., 2012). For this research project use of both the
sources are made by researcher as collection of data from primary source provides first hand and
most authentic form of data while fats collected through secondary sources provides a base and
support for primary collection of data. Use of questionnaire is made to collect data from primary
sources while secondary data is collected from online publications, articles and journals.
P3: Primary and secondary research using appropriate methods
Sampling- It is process associated with selection of pre determined number of
observations from a wide population to make research more effective. Sampling is of two types
I.e. probability and non probability (Kumar, 2019). For this particular research use of
probabilistic sampling method is made by investigator as it facilitates reduction of bias behaviour
in research through providing equal chances of selection for all observations. A sample size of 10
manager from the manpower of Grosvenor Hotel is selected for this research project.
Instruments of data collection- There are various instruments that can be used for
collection of data like questionnaire, interview, observation, etc. Use of questionnaire is made
for the purpose of data collections as it provides a most effective and easy way of collecting data
